The Maya Beach Hotel Bistro is the crown jewel of restaurants in this region and perhaps in the entire country. It recently won an award to that effect. The service here is quite good with plenty of attentiveness. The food is what puts it on the map. Standouts are the lobster bread pudding(a remarkable savory appetizer) and the grilled pork... More

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel in the Hummingbird room. The room was good quality, has A/C, a clean shower and bathroom, a fridge, and a slightly too soft bed. No complaints but nothing out of the ordinary either. However, the food really is amazing. There are already a ton of reviews raving about it so I don't have... More

We enjoyed dinner so much we went back for breakfast the next morning. The staff was accommodating and had good recommendations. It's located right on the beach with a beautiful view of the Caribbean and we loved the architecture; simple, yet distinctive. They have a tasty prosciutto wrapped grouper appetizer that we all enjoyed along with the braised Belizean lamb... More

I loved breakfast the most. Best child verde burrito and eggs buenadict. Lunch was great and dinner was fabulous. We came to eat here 5 times in a week long trip. Right on the beach with the great beach breeze. I only had one item I wasn't blown away with but it was still delicious. Everything was fabulous with the... More

I beleive this is the best restaurant in Placencia. Beach front restaurant. Nicely decorated, from furnishings to tables presentation, everything great. I ordered a shrimp and fish chowder, excellent! I also tried the shrimp in a coconut sauce, very good! For breakfast they serve dishes in a Belizean style with fried Jack and other options like eggs benedict and so,... More

By far the best place to eat in Placencia and the best cinnamon rolls in the world! All homemade! Great food!

We eat frequently at this restaurant - mostly dinner but they do serve breakfast and lunch. It doesn't seem to matter which day of the week you choose to go for dinner you will need a reservation as this place is always packed and for good reason-the food is excellent! The location is right on the beach-part of the hotel... More

Definitely recommended for food, wine and wonderful service. The owner shared a taste of the Australian Pinot Noir which was really lovely - so much so we added a glass to our meal. We a bottle of un-oaked Chardonnay from Australia as well - crisp and wonderful accompaniment to amazing food. For starters, we enjoyed the conch leek flan and... More

Ate here twice. The first time the food was just too much. Too much coconut. Not cooked correctly. Expensive. Great service. The second time we sat at the lovely bar and ordered a variety of appetizers. Very nice meal. Note this restaurant is way too expensive for the quality.

Thanks for visiting our restaurant, and I'm sorry you found us out of your budget range! I hope you can come back and try us for Happy Hour when Belizean rum and beer are USD $2 and appetizers are USD $4 (making many of them half price). Living here and knowing the ingredient and labor costs, we feel that USD... More

Description
We're certainly far from perfect, but we do try our best to create a winning experience for every single customer, whether they are hotel guests, Belizean neighbors or travelers staying at other hotels. Try pairing small plates with wines, choose from our creative main courses, or just enjoy some comfort food for breakfast or lunch. It's fun for us to meet new people and, well, just make them happy! Our casual beach bistro focuses on unique sauces and contemporary, tropical-themed flavor combinations while maintaining comfortable portions. Lots of fish and seafood. Bar service includes a 130-bottle wine list, local beer, rum drinks, and house specials. The outdoor atmosphere is casual so you can be comfortable in flip flops. Belize's "Restaurant of the Year" award was presented twice to the Bistro in June 2011 and May 2013.
