We thoroughly enjoyed our Japanese dinner at Restaurante Hana. We were well taken care of by the staff, which included the owner herself. The food was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. We sampled several dishes and enjoyed each one. If you're looking for a quiet and romantic dinner, Restaurante Hana is a great spot to check out in Pana. Would... More

This beautiful restaurant is noted for its food as well as being an art gallery. The works that decorate the wall provides a history of the area in photos and paintings. I think I spent as much time admiring the artwork as I did enjoying my sushi. This is a quite place to meet friends and share an evening.

I was a bit skeptical of going for sushi and udong noodle soup in the heart of Guatemala but was thoroughly glad I did! I went with a group of 7 and we ordered just about everything on the menu. We shared and enjoyed everything, especially the Nigiri and Sashimi. The dessert of Helado Tempura (fried ice cream) with fruit... More

My wife and I have eaten here several times now and we love it. As a traveler to Japan, I can definitely commend the chef and staff for delivering a consistently enjoyable experience. The setting is a beautiful sanctuary to enhance the experience.

I would have never expected to find such good sushi in the middle of Guatemala, but color me surprised. A friend and I went for dinner one evening, and we shared some nigiri and some rolls. The quality was good, but as we were still in the middle of Guatemala, there wasn't too much variety. This is definitely a nicer... More

Authentic Japanese food and good sushi. Friendly owner and staff. Serenity amidst hustle, bustle, and hassle. It's as if you never made the mistake of coming into Panajachel from the astoundingly beautiful surrounding countryside.

My husband and I were determined to try sushi while in Central America to see what it is like - it should not be surprising that the sushi is mediocre. We didn't try any other food, so I please don't think my "Average" rating applies to the restaurant as a whole. Next time, we will skip the sushi and order... More

Panajachel is a touristic oriented place for travelers that basically come to see the beautiful Atitlan and get away quickly. The places to eat in the village are fast food and mediocre restaurants invaded by loud, generally awful music. In this environment, Hana is an honest and quite place where you can enjoy good Japanese food in a relaxing patio... More

Loved the green tea cake with red bean cake in the middle! Nice to have real Japanese food in the middle of Guatemala. The Japanese cook came out to greet us and was very nice.

Description
Experience traditional Japanese dining in a beautiful, authentic Japanese restaurant located inside the historic Casa Cakchiquel in Panajachel Guatemala. Restaurante Hana offers the rich traditions of Japanese home cooking with Chef Mihoko Azumi. Like we do in Japan, we cook with the seasons, and savor the peak flavor of ingredients. We adhere to the fundamentals of Japanese cooking: respecting the ingredients and their natural flavors, cooking in the moment, and not doing too much. Restaurante Hana presents a wide range of typical Japanese dishes including sushi, sashimi, tempura and all manner of lesser known dishes from the East, both large full dishes and smaller plates for sharing as well as daily specials. Restaurante Hana offers a welcoming multicultural family style dining setting for travelers as well as local customers. We look forward to serving you.
