Delicious cheeseburger with chunky meat patty. Satisfied my craving. Came with really good chips and decent wine. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Worth a visit.

They sell a huge menu of coffee and chocolate drinks, along with some local typico favorites with a European twist. Visit here on almost all my Xela trips and it is set in a museum like setting a few easy blocks from Park Central in the Historical Zone of Xela. They are closed one day of the week, I think... After a case of mistaken identity at the similarly-named cafe upstairs and around the corner, I stepped down into the very atmospheric, low-ceiling coziness of Bajo La Luna. The service was courteous and prompt to serve the international crowd. Some friends had raved about the cheeseburger, and it satisfied thoroughly. As an added surprise bonus, Bajo is one of the... I love this place. I mostly get their burgers with a great glass of wine. Opens after 7:00 PM, seating for about 30 (close friends) and the ambience is the best.

Jose' is the owner of this petite cafe' and is very friendly, helpful and interesting. The home where this cafe' and the Cafe' and Chocolate Museum has been in his family for nearly 120 years. He has an eclectic menu, known for his great burgers and has delicious and fresh vegan options. Fresh food is washed carefully. This is a... More

Absolutely amazing, might not be the cheapest but bar's coziness makes up for it. Music isn't too loud so you can chat with your friends without screaming, barman is really cool and nice and if it's your birthday you get a free shot (I did). He also speaks English very well. Bajo La Luna is probably PLQ's students' favourite place.

I had the seafood Chile Relleno and a chocolate martini, served with a cup of vegetable soup. Bottled water is extra. Inside is A/C, nice patio for cooler weather. Very nice. Wine cellar built in under the stairs.

The burgers are good, but there is too much coriander in the meat. The french fries are excellent and the waiter is nice.

We were looking for this restaurant and ended up going to Cafe La Luna instead (which is owned by the same family but it's a caffee). There we found that the restaurant Bajo La Luna would open soon and we had a great croissant at the cafe while we waited. We were told to wait ten minutes (that turned out... More

We heard so much of the place and the burgers from our companions on trips around Xela that we decided we have to eat there. What we found was an official gringo hangout with imitation Western menu (including non-meat burgers) and prices, like back home. Go there, if you miss wine (not a staple otherwise in Guate) or seeing other... More

Im sorry that our traveler-appealing business didnt fill your expectations, but I can assure you that nothing in Bajo La Luna is an imitation of something from "back home". Everything in our menu is the result of what we want to eat and what customers have asked for for the past 15 years, without ever compromising quality for quantity or... More

Bajo La Luna is a 1900's house's crawl space turned into a wine bar (the first one in town), we opened June 23rd, 2001. Some things have change (size, menu, etc) since then, but never the idea to own and run a bar that makes us feel like is the only place we want to be, even if its were we 'work'... Bajo La Luna's menu is an assortment of drinks and food, including our famous cheese fondue and the best burgers in town! Half-pound patties (beef, pork, beef and pork, vegetarian), fresh veggies, artisan bread and a side of hand cut fries, so yes, simply the best.
