Let me start by saying that neither my wife and I are vegetarian, vegan or anything close. But I will say we had a very enjoyable lunch there. My wife got the sirloin steak sandwich and I got the gyros. Both of our entrees were quite tasty and its was very hard to tell that there was no meat in... More

My family and I are new Nutriarian eaters (Dr. Furhman) and have been eating vegetarian and clean. The meals here are fresh, well flavored and delicious. The veggie burgers are made fresh daily and are wonderful.

The location is in a part of a triangle street wise and it appears to look quite eclectic inside. We did get seated right away but our waiter was not overly enthusiastic. However, he was efficient. My husband had the Tofu Rueben and he proclaimed it delicious. It was served on beautiful marbled rye. i ordered the cheese and onion... More

I live for the GRIT! Every time I come to Athens, it is our first stop. How can you beat the organic, healthy tastes as well as the friendly waitstaff and fabulous location? I love the Golden Bowl but truly, I have never had a bad bite in the place. If you are inclined towards a plant-based food plan, run... More

If you are near Athens GA this is the place to eat especially if you are a vegetarian or vegan. Everyone in our group enjoyed their food and the service was excellent.

Ok, I'm not the biggest fan of Grit. Probably because I'm not a vegetarian. However, my meal was ok. But, if you like to eat healthy food, give it a try. You'll probably like it.

For fathers day my wife, my daughter and I went to The Grit Restaurant in Athens. Even though it was a second choice ( the Argentinian rest. one block away was supposed to be open at 11 but did not open till 12) the food and service were very good. It has the ambiance of a 70's diner, and I... More

I am not a vegetarian, nor am I gluten free but the food was delicious! Good quick service and a fun place with a great atmosphere in an old building style right downtown. I Will go back often.

Ate dinner here while at a conference. Friendliness and helpfulness were immediately evident. The service was fast enough for us to get fresh, hot entrees, and we enjoyed the hummus appetizer while we waited. The hummus was delicious and kept us busy. I also ordered the noodle bowl of the day, which was simply delicious. I'm not Vegan but was... More
