Great little diner! Full of character. The fried chicken smelt amazing, but we went for hotdog and cherry pie, which was just as nice.

We stopped in after looking up restaurant recommendations in the area. It came down to either the Palms or Chubbies, which was down the block. While we were pretty intrigued with the name "Chubbies" and all that might hold for us, we decided on going...More

My husband and I ate breakfast with the locals here. Our server was so friendly and gave us ideas on activities to do in the area. The food was good and prices seemed reasonable.

Description
Welcome to the Palms Grill Cafe... It's not only the sound of the 1930s-40s music playing in the background... It's not only the smell of the delicious, home-cooked, daily Blue Plate special wafting out from the kitchen... It's not even the taste of that first forkful of made-from-scratch coconut cream pie (...And all the other great pies, too!). It's when everything you've been hearing, seeing, feeling, smelling, and tasting combine that you realize you're living the Mother Road the way it used to be. Join us to experience Rt. 66 The way it was when the Palms Grill Cafe first opened up in 1934 along Rt. 66 In downtown Atlanta, Illinois.
