While stating at the Gateway Hotel, our family came here for Sunday brunch. I called to see if we needed reservations for 8 and was told we did not. When we arrived we discovered that they had held a private room for our family ! Everyone enjoyed the selections of waffle (make your own), with whipped cream and syrup. The... More

We had a tight time frame so we called ahead. They got us in in reasonable time. Our server was very attentive. He even brought out the check early so we could pay right away. We both ordered the omelets and the were delicious. We will be happy to return.

I stopped here for breakfast when staying in the hotel because it came with the room. The hotel was great, the restaurant was underwhelming. I arrived at about 8am, it was 2/3 empty yet I had to wait for almost 10 minutes to be seated by a very unpleasant hostess. The breakfast buffet was almost empty (you can order off... More

I had a business dinner at the Iowastater. The staff was friendly and the decor pleasant. I had the Cy Burger with fries, the meat was cooked as I desired and the ingredients were fresh. The proportion was reasonable, as was the price ($12).

The restaurant is located inside the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center. The restaurant / bar is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. We had the salmon salad, which is EXCELLENT. I've had other food here before and it is usually pretty good. Our waitress was very good and kept our drinks full. The only complaint was that it... More

Breakfast meeting was very nice. Private dining allowed for easy interaction and conversation. The breakfast buffet had a good selection of choices and the quality was very good.

My New York steak was perfectly done (medium rare), but was a bit grisly. Caesar salad was skimpy. My wife had the peppercorn pork tenderloin - very tasty but a bit overboard on the pepper. Corn chowder and potato soup and sausage soup was very good. Very nice waiter and good attention. Hostess was very nice as well as she... More

We both tried their BLT sandwich with Sriracha sauce and smoked thick back, it was so good! The only bad part was the tomato but the buy local and our local tomatoes haven't been than good because of excessive heat. Loved, loved, loved their fries and the jalapeno ketchup, made fresh with chunks of jalapenos chopped inside of it. Our... More

Service, breakfast buffet, appetizers, even the coffee creamers. And when they are busy, others jump in to help. Just a fun place. Two wedding at the hotel last weekend and super busy but seemed to always be able to take care of us. Moved us from small table to big as our friends kept arriving and joining us. Most accommodating.... More
