Large party of 12. All different tastes. Everyone was able to find something they liked on the menu. Even with a large group, we still have good service. The restaurant does not automatically include tip for a large group. Be sure to tip for the great service you get. Food is good. Hot food was served Hot (not warm). Everything... More

I expected the usual fare for this establishment but got a lot more. The mac and cheese choices are incredible! Pretty good beer list as well. Definitely a good stop when in Ames.

The food was great, the service was also great. Large menu - pizza's good, individual pizza's a tad small but everything was tasty and well made. There is an attached sports bar that is fun.

I'm not sure why this place is called Old Chicago. In 30 plus years of living there, I saw or tasted nothing like this. It is essentially a gigantic bar. The Chicken Sandwich was good; the onion rings were not. Pepsi products are served. I was there mid-afternoon during the week on purpose to avoid a rush. I expected something... More

I ordered a salad which was average. My son ordered a personal pizza and it was TINY!! For $12 I would've expected something a little bigger. The service was not great. Never saw our waitress after taking our order. Had to flag down 2 other servers for help. I won't be back.

I'm not a drinker, but if I were, I'd be doing these beer "tours". I even considered it, but I really don't like beer. So I did post several pics of pizza and some apps. All average to above average. Best service here is in the bar area. Marcydiner tantrum scale of 5/5-no screaming kids.

This place has an amazing selection of beer and so many on tap. Their menu is very broad with some pretty creative dishes. in the bar area there are a ton of TVs with many different sports showing. We have been here a few times while staying at the hotel next door.

My family and I eat at Old Chicago in Ames often when we get down there, usually during the evening meal time. Their calzone's are very good! I took my mom recently during lunch. Once again, the Calzone hit the spot, however, the service was a bit slow. Usually when we go there, the service is great.

Pleasant waitress and reliable service. Would return when visiting in Ames, plus was close to hotel.
