We only paid 20 Euro per person for the set dinner of three courses, all delicious, freshly home cooked food. The tajine was very good and very diiferent from most, so nice if you want a change. And in a gorgeous riad!

Me and my husband stayed in this elegant riad for 9 nights (28th Dec till 6th Jan 2017). It is situated in Medina yet stone trough from Bab Ziat which means the taxi can get right to the door of riad unlike many other riads in Medina. It is also 10 min walk to Bab Bou Jeloud-the main gate to... More

Our stay at Al Bartal was amazing from the moment we entered the beautiful building, until we left for air flight back home. The kind staff at the hotel arranged for our taxi from Fes Airport and had a night porter get us settled at 1 AM without incident. The following morning, (and for the duration of our trip) we... The Riad itself is very pleasant and not too hard to find (which is not always the case in Fes ) The cooking is traditional Moroccan and the dinner is whatever they are serving that evening, so there's no choice. But what they served us was very good : soup and salads, an excellent chicken tajine and a pastry-based dessert.... More

We were not a quiet group (7 females) but that didn't bother them. We were treated with kindness & respect, nothing was too much trouble & they helped us organise trips outside the Medina. The whole Riad is very pretty with hanging plants from the balconies, this where you eat breakfast & dinner.Rooms are clean & some are enormous with a couple... More

Highly competent dinner at a great price. We had a lamb tagine with poached pears that acheived a level of sophistication we didn't experience in our other meals in Morocco. Definitely French influenced in blending flavors and plating.

This was an amazing meal and terrific experience all round. We took the recommendation of trip advisor commnet and tried to go aong one night but this was not possible as they buy all the necessary ingredients as required. The host of the riad Omar was so helpful and accomodating, that we decided to book for the next night. The... More

Stayed for a few days in one of the downstairs suites. The room was very good. Limited breakfast and limited staffing in comparison to other riads I have stayed at in Fez in same price range and comparable size.

A beautiful Riad with excellent staff. The setting for the meal and back ground music was perfect. The meal itself was very good but bland. For starters we had cucumber soup which was very tasty and some carrots and onions which were tasteless. The main course was a Lamb Tangine, one of our favourites, this also was bland and if...
