Had such a lovely bday dinner here! Located in a hidden part of the Medina, the restaurant has a really romantic atmosphere. Tables were decorated with rose petals and candles ad well as the little fountainin the patio. The food was lovely (loved the vegetarian couscous) and the waiters were excellent, so sweet and friendly, they even sang happy birthday... More

I went late and only for dessert 🍰 and coffee ☕️ but so pleased i did. The manager welcomed me in despite kitchen almost closed and almost empty. The riad is 500 years old and has an incredible and classy feel and very romantic with roses and candles everywhere unfortunately wasted on me on my own. All the staff were... More

Good for large group meals, it's all about the location and buildings rather than the food. In this location any food would taste good. There are lots of the these old style restaurants to visit, this is one of the good ones and reasonably easy to find.

The building is a wonder left on earth. It is said to be the oldest house riad in Marrakech. The architecture is just sublime remain of the people that inhabited Marrakech in the 16th century and the remains of their great skills. The staff was extremely nice in hosting us and showing us around and explaining the different aspects of... More

Various alleyways led us to this 16th century building, well worth a visit. Food excellent, service very good and not expensive. Member of staff walked us back to Main Street which was a nice gesture. We will go back.

We were only aware of this place as our guide tried to get us in the day before for lunch but was closed for decorating. It looked stunning so were very keen to come back the next day, however even having been before we couldn't find it anywhere! We even phoned for assistance but the person on the phone was... More

Book early because this place is sought after. It's well worth coming here. Such a beautiful building, very good Maroccan food, very friendly staff. No alcohol is served.

Description
Situated in the very heart of the souks, this building is a hidden secret, only found by the discerning and curious visitor, where history is recorded in the delicate tracery of the stucco and skilfully carved wood. In the year 2000 , Marrakech Riads, a leading player in the restoration of the riads of Marrakech, brought Dar Cherifa back to life, and simultaneously unveiled a hidden treasure of the medina, the refined decor of this building recalling that of the Medersa Ben Youssef, jewel of the Saadian era (16th century) and one of the finest monuments of Marrakech. Renovated with the greatest care and attention to detail, with the participation of renowned craftsmen so as to maintain its authenticity and splendour, Dar Cherifa welcomes all visitors eager to meet new and interesting people. It is a real cultural venue, hosting regular exhibitions, workshops, concerts and events. This inimitable space draws one into a meditative state of mind and heart. Everyone fortunate enough to visit this building says that they breathe an atmosphere of peace and serenity the minute they cross the threshold. The mention of Moroccan culture immediately implies Moroccan cuisine, and what more beguiling setting than this pure and refined interior for sampling a cuisine abounding in cultural exchange; a subtle blend of sweet and sour, the inheritance of Berber, Jewish and Arab-Andalucian influences. Enjoy!
