A surprising chaotic and fascinating hippy chic beach fish restaurant. The food is simple, the decor outrages as plastic chairs and plants mingle with wicker chairs and local plants and flowers.... Chez Abdou would be a perfect setting for a Pedro Almodovar film. It is MUST go place in Tangier.

Have eaten here twice, while travelling between Asilah and Tanger. Well worth making the detour. The cooking is excellent and the decor and atmosphere is rustic and laid back, with access to the nearby windswept beach. Only the calamars were a little overcooked...

We went there for a Sunday lunch with some friends. We chose our fish on a fish display for a Fish tagine and a superb charcoal BBQ Pageot. We were in the gardens surrounded by all kind of Maroccan plants and tents.. We also had a big salad, some huge BBQd prawns and fried squid as starters. And of course... More

Great food with fresh sardines cooked on the barbecue and the best mussels I've ever tasted. They serve alcohol and it's right by the beach.

A Moroccan friend invited my husband and me to this beach front restaurant lost in time. If you like grilled fish, this is the place. Same goes for the signature dish, country paella. The salads are clean and fresh. The decor is something to be experienced. But that should not stop you. The beach just beyond the restaurant is clean... More

If you don't like chaotic places don't go here. I like the atmosphere in this outside restaurant. The fresh fish from the BBQ is ok. The service extremely ok, if you find them.

This place has been written about for years. During the swinging heyday of Morocco, many of the world's jetsetters passed through and enjoyed the hospitality of this beachside shanty. The night we arrived, our group of twenty were the only customers. The decor was not promising- the place was a warren of one oddly decorated room after another. It appeared... More

My sister and I went to Chez Abdou for lunch. We had often heard about this place but had never gone. The outdoor restaurant is actually a number of nooks, under trees, in the shade of pergolas or behind a screen of trees, with the most eclectic mix of furniture I have ever seen. Plants everywhere, a riot of colour and... More
