After eleven days of indifferent cooking and some fairly poor meat as we travelled round Tanzania it was good to get a decent meal at last: an excellent steak and chips. A good finale to an otherwise excellent trip to Tanzania

We had 2 light lunches here, nicely presented food, good choices, good to see some light dishes offered. Dinner was also well presented with good choices and reasonably priced.

We were on our way to Angola scheduled to change planes in Dar es Salaam when we experienced a mechanical problem. We decided to make the best of the situation. It was suggested that we take a meal at Baraza! We dined on the seared Tuna, which is brought in fresh daily from the nearby fish market. It was pretty... More

This restaurant is by far the best in Dar es Salaam. The service is superb and it has the best Tuna steak in the city for a very nice price. I always love to come back to this place.

The Baraza Restaurant menu has an excellent choice of dishes. I stayed at this hotel for 7 days and ate frequently at the Baraza, both snacks and full meals. Very tasty and attractive dishes .The service is good and your order is served quickly, despite seeing the restaurant being busy most of the times. Limited selection of desserts but attractive... Ate there today. Had one of their specials for the week it was okay but not fantastic. My pasta was bland and taste of Salmon was not evident. Fast and efficient service.

Located in the Southern Sun Hotel -- indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor is very nice, near pool and greenery. Food was good - had the shrimp curry, which was a tad to spicy. Service was friendly, but on the slower side.

Nestled next door to the historical Botanical Garden, Baraza is literally the perfect retreat from the hot, bustling city around it. Southern Sun Dar es Salaam's flagship restaurant is open every day for lunch and dinner, and offers a delicious fusion of local Tanzanian and modern continental cuisine. Enjoy a tempting mix of mouth-watering steaks, fresh seafood and traditional Swahili dishes. Or, if you're looking for something unique, try our Chef's weekly specials, accompanied by one of Baraza's recommended wines off the impressive wine list. Add to that, friendly service and a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, Baraza is definitely a restaurant you'll visit again and again.
