Visited The Fishmonger Restaurant to have my dinner, ordered Fish curry cooked in coconut sauce and topped up with shrimps which was served with a half portion of rice plus a half portion of French fries (as I ordered). Their food was not bad but the taste was not up to the mark, or probably I selected a wrong item... More

The food was great, fresh seafood platters, a bit expensive, but it is mid range anyway. Good vibes in the area, they just need some fans even if its outside as there is no air flow and it gets stuff and very hot. The staff was very friendly.

As a family we do visit the Fish Monger frequently. the service outstanding. the drinks are cold. The menu has a huge variety and when served, the food is piping hot. The service is fast and efficient. This is a place to visit and relax and enjoy good company.

I must admit, I was rather disappointed. Granted, I got my meal take-away so not sure if that makes a difference. However, the shrimp and lobster cocktail was a huge disappointment. A bit of shrip and lobster absolutely smothered in some kind of sauce on top of some lettuce. Realy?? Hard to taste anything but the sauce. And the main... More

Though Fishmonger is located on a rooftop within a shopping centre, it has the best seafood platter in town, without a doubt. Its a huge meal for two people, so skip lunch if necessary. Be sure to ask for the house chilli sauce, its absolutely fantastic, and goes great with the fish. The best value seafood in Dar!

We went here for dinner tonight. Absolutely abysmal! Ok - the haloumi cheese starter was nice - but no chef in the world can successfully mangle these - and the sets were cushioned but for the rest..... The fish was over cooked and terribly greasy - the fries were half-raw and greasy. The entire meal was over salted. To add... More

This is a very normal casual place that can deceive one at first glance but the food that comes out of their kitchen is so mouth watering. They have very friendly waiters too.

The only seafood restaurant in Dar es Salaam, The Fishmonger is situated on a lovely outdoor terrace. The casual, seaside Mediterranean atmosphere, reflects also on our cooking style – fresh, healthy, delicious. The seafood is caught daily and cooked to order. If you are wanting a light meal of a simple grilled fish and salad or something more decadent, like our signature King’s Platter, we will cater for all your needs. And our specials don’t stop at seafood – we are famous for our flame-grilled Portuguese Chicken and Steak Algarve. So come, sit back and enjoy the experience!
