A very authentic place you get served dishes that are not there any ore but used to be part of the Tunisia history during the days of the Ottomans

I visited this restaurant with very high expectations. It was claimed to be one of the best in Tunis. Unfortunately, beyond its tasteful decor and ambiance, the quality of the food didn't really live up to expectation. It's possible that Ramadan's pressure affected the quality of the food. Issues included a drab looking salad, they appears to have been prepared... More

Excellent restaurant offering Tunisian traditional food comprising but not limited to: couscous with lamb, salads, grilled fish, brik, sweets, assida, green tea with mint etc. As soon as you enter the restaurant you'll be very warmly welcomed by the owner Princess Salwa Bey and his husband Mr. Ridha. The staff is very good and the food is outstanding. You feel... More

El Walima is one of just a handful of restaurants in Tunis offering authentic traditional cuisine - the kind you might be served at a big family gathering during Ramadam. Three of us went for lunch and enjoyed mixed starters of Tunisian salad, slata mechouia, briks and soup. We chose (and shared) sweet lamb stew with prunes, stuffed squid and... More

I was very impressed by the owner warm and so genuine friendly welcome.. it makes you feel at home, in your mum's kitchen.. the food is just so yummy, simple and authentic.. It really made my day! This was not all! I lost my sunglasses that day (a week ago) and they were found and kept at the restaurant until... More

I went there several times at dinner time but it was closed. Turned out it opens only for lunch. The set menu price is 38, plus 4.5 for tea and ice cream and 1.5 for water. So it can out to be 44 dinar per person. The appetizer is ok with four kinds but the beef I had is overlooked... More

This is a very nice and traditional place and a must when visiting Tunis. First of all, reservations is a must otherwise, you either have to wait for a long time or you are out of luck. The restaurant is usually pretty well packed, still, the service is excellent. You are welcomed at the door by the Princess and her... More

El Walima is one of the best restaurants I have ever visited in Tunis. I was literally intrigued by the hospitality of its owner : Princess Salwa Bey, a descendant Tunisia's Mohamed Lamine Bey. The food was perfect : the dishes are varied, generous, consistent and rich. It was an opportunity for me to recall a part of our country's... More
