Chef and owner Patrice, a Cameroonian of Vietnamese origins (!) is there to welcome and guide you through a rich menu. Everything we've tasted: soup, nem, various mains were delicious. Staff is 'on the ready', respectful and friendly. Service too was swift. Decent prices for the quality of the food! Strongly recommended!

My first impression of La Paillote was that it provided welcome shelter from a rainstorm, and the tables and decor were dimly lit and cozy - perfect for a small group of friends or a couple. My table shared some spring roll appetizers and a couple of noodle dishes. Spices were well balanced and extra condiments provided additional heat for... More

Paillote offers a great selection of Vietnamese food. Location: It's a little tricky at first. It's on the street with Casino and Mahima past Bastos. I'm not sure what the name of the neighborhood is, but if you pass Mahima on your left, Paillote is a little further on also on the left. Look for a viney wall with gates,... More

Mrs. Nguyen owns the place and works the kitchen. The waiters have been here for years. Philippe greets and "holds court" at the table nearest the bar. Patrice take over the kitchen if his mother does not feel well. It feels like home. Carmalized pork, bo luc lac, and pho are excellent. Spring rolls are the best.

La Paillotte, what to say about this gem? Well the food (Viet/Asian/Fusion) is excellent. The Cold Coffee is magical on a hot day, there is always cold beer and mixed drinks available. But what La Paillotte is really about is a friendly atmosphere and spending time with friends, or, quite often making new ones. The staff is great too, especially... More
