Out tourguide was originally from the southern part of Ethiopia and he recommended that place. Dishes different from what you typically find in Addis, a bit more spicy and very tasty. One of their specialities is the raw beef, which is excellent.

Food was delicious and nicely arranged. We couldn't really decide so they prepared us mixed vegetarian and meat dishes although that was not on the menu. Injera was tasty and re-filled without asking. Entertainment was very good with balance between singing and dancing, by as many as 3 dancers, 3 singers and 2 musicians which we thought is a lot... Lovely local food served with entertainment from various tribes across Ethiopia. I thoroughly enjoyed the local drinks and the food.

Walk into this restaurant only if you want to taste the authentic Ethiopian dish called Injera...Its plain soggy bread with lots of variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian curries (you can get it customized) Remember to wash your hands first, before ploughing into the injera - as its eaten with bare hands. Enjoy it with soft drinks, or beer The ambiance... More

No kidding, if you want to try proper Ethiopian food, you need to go there. All is home-made in this restaurant that uses some of its garden fresh herds for spice combination. Prices are high, but this is worth, and no digestion problems afterwards. The butter and the enjera are very good quality, and all the dishes combinations are excellent.

This was my second trip to Addis and my fourth local Ethiopian "cultural" restaurant. Dashen is hands-down the best. The food was delicious and the atmosphere is much more cozy and unique than some of its competitors. (The prices are better too). And the dance performances were the best I've seen in Addis - indescribable talent and movements, and really... More

We went twice, once at lunch time and another during the evening. The food was great both times The show of fabulous dancers and singing takes place in the evenings but there was hardly anyone else there in the evening. During lunchtime however, the place was full. There was a good atmosphere.

I went here with a coworker after a long day at work. The beer and food was delicious but the real attraction was the wonderful dancing and singing! I definitely recommend.

Dashen has some of the best food, and best presentation, in Addis. Every time in in town for business, I make sure to pay a visit. Vegetarian options are ample, even outside of fasting season. Shiro is particularly good, a perfect consistency. Honestly, everything I've had off the menu is excellent. And you can't beat the price -- for a... More

Visited this restaurant twice and both times it was great. The first time we went was in the evening (there is traditional dancing starting at about 7 or 8). The dancers were really great, there wasn't much atmosphere as it was a little empty but it meant we almost had a private show! The second time we visited at lunch... More
