Having read about it I was determined to make sure I dined here this time, and it was all good! The restaurant and its courtyard and other buildings have such a serenity about them that its hard to believe its all in the middle of Bamako. The restaurant ambiance is lovely, muted colors and roughly plastered walls give the place... More

The food and drinks, as well as the décor, are inspired by the historical roots of Mali culture. The best part is the ambiance.

San Toro is a great place to dine with family and friends and perhaps even for dates. Great ambiance...great local food and if you are lucky, you get to hear the wonderful local Malian music with the small music events that take place there. Safe location and good customer service but can be slow. Super recommended.

The Malian dishes here are always dependably good, and there is often good music events. But it's a little pricey, and the ambiance leaves something to be desired--it's super bright lights and no or very quiet music (unless there's a concert), feels like everyone can listen in on your conversation. But a safe address for bringing friends from out of... More

San Toro is a great place to bring visitors, with its delicious local food prepared in a way that most westerners can stomach, and fantastic ambience. There's usually live music. Service can be slow but you don't mind it because it's so nice to be there.

We had been to many "french" styles restaurant so San Toro's menu was an interesting change. Note, they do not serve alcohol but delicious juices. The food was amazingly delicious with light spices (or stronger if you want). Musicians were playing local music. I would definitely recommend.

Mix of traditional ingredients with international food a way to enter slowly but good in the culinarian tradition of Mali. In addition great decoration and relax environment that allows to experience the music and the beuty of the handicrafts.

I've been to the San Toro before, long before the renovation, but a recent visit convinced me that the restaurant hasn't changed that much from what I remember. This was a great place to take my parents when they were visiting because it merges Malian-style food with a Western restaurant atmosphere. I really enjoy the juices at San Toro -... More

San Toro is a well known restaurant in the center of Bamako with 20 years of history. Koffi Annan and the current King of The Netherlands are well known visitors. The food and the characteristic decoration are traditional African. The grilled fish and meat have an excellent reputation like the delicious local juices. The large garden and paillote offer excellent opportunities for meetings and seminars. Alcohol is not served.
