Wonderful staff, cheap drinks, great rum. Unfortunately the food is not at all up to local standard. The imitation creole food may fool the tourists but will not attract the locals. La Marmite is almost an institution in Trou aux Biches and would do better if their food was more genuine.

La Bonne Marmite is a very good restaurant Port Louis, the capital. I have been there several times with colleagues. It serves a new buffet everyday. The food is nice and at affordable prices. Service very good. A good place to enjoy with friends and family. It is also a nice place for business meetings.

La Bonne Marmite is a fantastic restaurant, not only that but it has remained in Port Louis for the last 27 years and the same chef still remains. The staff are very respectable and efficient. The food is world class level and is very Mauritian based. I recommend the Prawn & Chicken Curry and the Murgh Makhani (Butter Chicken Curry)

La Bonne Marmite is one of the best restaurants in Port-Louis. It is known to everybody and is located in the 'quartier des banques'. If you are with family and you need to eat, don't hesitate and just drop there. The place is very famous for business lunch/dinner- if you are in Port-Louis, this is a nice place to talk... More

Very nice restaurant and well situated in the heart of Port Louis and in one of the main street of the capital. At the back of the restaurant is found the Government Centre and opposite the Government Centre is the Prime Minister's Office followed by the National Museum and the Caudan Waterfront is a five minutes walk away. The foods... More

I went there with my family. The personnel is very nice and professional. I love the interior decor which is cosy, vintage and chic. It was not a very crowdy place. Perfect for enjoying a quiet lunch with family, or colleagues. Since I was working on that day, and hence don't have much time, I always look out for a... More

Tried the buffet part of the restaurant. Food is well prepared, although a bit pricy. Unfortunately, no variety, the same food was on offer for the 3 days that we went there

The ground floor offers fixed menu, which is average. However, the first floor a la carte food is very good, the location is ideal, very central, behind the Government House. It offers veg options too, also has some indian cuisine, if you are craving for it, though , on the bland side to cater to the locals
