Fine cuisine at a fine price too. The Cellar is a great, private place to eat for a mid-sized group of people

My wife and I shared a lovely evening here watching the sunset. Great service, sensational wine list (we shared a sterling bottle of pinotage), wonderful view and atmosphere. Food was good but not spectacular. Tried a little too hard to be fine dining and some technical elements of the cooking were lacking. The game tartare (i think it was oryx)... More

I was invited fro lunch and had a starter, main course and desert. The portions and not massive which allows you to have a 3-course meal. The quality of the food and presentation was outstanding. The flavours were also very good.

Great view of Windhoek! I was a bit disappointed that the only true German beer on tap was the Edinger. The food was good, not great. A good stop for drink or two, nothing more.

One of the most beautiful restaurants I've visited thus far. Breathtaking views of the city and mountains. The castle is perhaps just as amazing as the view. Service was quick and the food matched everything else. Definitely a place to visit when in Windhoek

Because it was Tanya's birthday, we wanted to do something very special. I reserved a table (they told me on the phone "no sandals... semi formal"; very arrogant...) and we got a nice table with a beautiful view. The waiter were very friendly, sometimes a bit to much in our face.. The food was delicious. On the other hand the... More

lovely and exquisite hotel with fantastic view from the garden terrace. The staff was helpful and warm. Rooms were done in a stylish and luxurious way although the price one pays you expect at least drinking bottled water on the house..that indeed was disappointing. The wine cellar is gorgeous and historic feel to it, it was fun reading up about... More

This felt like being entertained by a Bond villain! A really spectacular place on the side of the hollowed out volcano that is Windhoek. Everything supposedly worked with precision and it is a lovely looking place both inside and out. But it felt tense, controlled and so missed that vital real sense of hospitality. Bond Villains always are polite but... More

Beautiful castle with lovely city views! Great for sundowners! Rooms are comfy clean and pretty. Awesome restaurant, friendly service but food is expensive! Real silver on the tables and tall wine glasses, extensive winelist! Not cheap, but worth the splash!
