Im hesitant as to how to put this. I go here often for lunch and this is the first time we had a cockroach come out from underneath the naan basket. At the same time, im not sure I can confidently say about any place in Kathmandu that there is no cockroach. Otherwise the food is really good and good... More

its a very basic restro that serves Indian, Chinese and Nepalese food. But don't be fooled by its very average outlook because the food you'll be served won't disappoint. Its popular with office goers and known for its Indian Dishes. It's beside the main road and very easy to find. I don't think they serve alcohol.

I used to work above Himalayan Bank, just down the street from Downtown, and would eat there often. It's a great place to get a fast lunch, and popular with the UN House crowd.

A basic Nepali restaurant where you can rely on the quality and of the food. Very affordable. Can be noisy at peak hour with traffic going past. Good access to vans and taxis for transport.

We rarely eat in here so I can't comment on the dining experience and table service. But it's our favourite place for takeaway meals - ready in good time, at a good price, and so delicious. Downtown's strength is its Indian food range - we love their naan bread paired with any one of the range of curries

We went as a small group of mates and families for an evening dinner - specially for an Indian experience. We got it. The food was excellent, service was quick, prices were good. Recommend for an evening out as a family. Take a taxi or motorbike - parking is hard to get.

downtown is serving delicious foods from decades everyone should try once. restaurant is crowded in lunch time (between 1 to 3 pm) so the orders are delivered abit late. good hospitality good food but there is very small parking area for bike and no parking for 4 wheelers.

The old town parts that you have to pay something like $15 per person to enter are beautiful and quite well-preserved (although Bhaktipur is much larger and better to visit if you can). The commercial district (Thamel) is very touristy. On the main road there are lots of good jewelers. My companion spent big bucks getting some great stuff.

This is a great place for a quick, cheap meal. The menu is broad with plenty of Nepali, Indian and Chinese options. Food has been uniformly tasty (but probably not spectacular). Prices are very low. Overall ambiance isn't great though.
