Had green curry, chicken and veggie mataba, beef curry, and iced coffee. Everything was delicious! Best was the green curry. Fantastic and perfectly seasoned! This place is busy, for a reason. Prices were right. 120 baht for a delicious meal with a drink. Would go again.

I went along November 2016 for a light lunch. After looking at the great menu i went for green curry with gai (chicken) 45 baht Thai ice tea and a seafood roti 55 baht All served in super quick time and all under 200 baht ! All super tasty and i really enjoyed it.

I love roti for breakfast. Everytime we stay in the Fort area in Bangkok, this one is my favourite breakfast destination. Recommended: roti mataba with chicken, beef or fish or all of it (see photo).

The food here is extremely delicious. The food averages at about 50 baht a dish, they are a little small, but well worth the money. I do recommend the chicken massaman + rice, and the sour chicken soup! For dessert, go for the roti! It is a little small, but the dough itself is delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant... While in Bangkok last month I dropped into this hole-in-the-wall place that I'd heard so much about with my wife just for a snack before hopping on the river ferry to go to Chinatown. We had iced coffee and iced tea and found it far too sweet for our liking. The curries looked good and the menu was easy to... More

Ignore the haters, this beat-down hole in the wall is really good, and really cheap. Compared to the other bland, over-priced thai food in this area, Roti Mataba stands out as among the very best in terms of flavor and price, at least if you want a table and fork to come with your meal. I've eaten here probably 10... More

- most of foods are really good, the price is quite high anyway - doesn't seem very clean - staffs are not quite friendly but there's one guy who seemed to welcome customer - there's the aircon upstair

This little restaurant is a gem along Phra Athid road, opposite Phra Sumen fort and can easily be missed, wThey serve Southern Thai food such as Khao Mok Gai , which is the Thai version of chicken biryani,, different curries , roti and mataba. TThere are a few tables on the sidewalk, the restaurant is extremely popular with locals (which... More

I chanced on this place by mistake. I was checking out the Loy Krathong festivities near the Phra Sumen fort when I saw a long line of people outside this small place from which a really wonderful food aroma was wafting out of. I checked it out and had some seafood mataba roti, some fried vegetable rolls and some wonderful... More

I will definitely not come back here. I had not experienced customer service this rude anywhere in Thailand, be it hotel, bar or restaurant. The customer service here has got to be the worst in the country! We were basically ignored, then after speaking up brought the wrong food, and felt treated like they didn't really care we were there.... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
