Let me start off with The food and drinks, which are really great, the price is on the eyes of the beholder. Some says it’s on the expensive side, but what do you expect if you get the best quality for the right price 😊
Palate bar is a place that can’t be forgotten, once you have been there you will get an astonishing experience. Therefore, I go here every time when I am in Thailand, it’s by far one of the best rooftopbars in Bangkok. This can be confirmed by the regular guests from all over the world. Which I often see each year when I am at Palatebar.
Unlike other reviews, there are waitresses (like Crepp) who can speak English fluently. So who had written the reviews about the lack of English speaking workers must be drunk that time.
There is a broad selection of stages you can choose, if you don’t like to experience the rooftopbar experience, but rather sit inside and enjoy the music, that is also an option. For both young and old there is enough entertainment.
Also the location is easy to reach by metro / train / taxi, so when it comes to public transport it is not a hassle.
All with all a great place to gather gain great experiences, wether it is about the food, music or view it’s always worth a visit❤️

Found this place on Apple Maps while trying to find somewhere near our hotel. I would definitely recommend. I don’t often write reviews but this was a great experience all round. Staff couldn’t do enough for us. We arrived with five minutes of happy hour to go and staff suggested I order to keep a couple of beers on tap so to pay the happy hour price. It’s these little things that show excellent customer care and make you want to go back. Food was excellent and presentation was nice on arrival. I ordered a salt & chilli chicken and kitchen asked if I wanted normal spice or reduced. Again a sign of care and attention to detail. Really tasty well cooked food. Staff were so friendly and attentive. Really surprisingly inexpensive. We asked to sit in the rooftop area. The stair climb to the top was definitely worth it with cooling fans and a natural breeze to keep things comfortable. I could t fault this experience.

One of the best rooftop bar in Bangkok by the price. The taste is good with varies of options, meats and veggie, also a draft beer, spirits, and cocktails. The location is great, next to BTS Saphan Taksin.

Palate Bar just started selling beer after new wave restrictions were lifted yesterday.
Unfortunately they stopped their 99 baht per pint promotion between 4pm and 7pm - but never told the customer!
So now a pint costs 140 plus VAT, which was an unpleasant surprise.
I had been a regular customer for the last few years, visiting maybe twice a week.
Now, no more. They have just lost 2 regular customers.
A typical Thai reaction - if customers do not come, increase the price!

A little disappointed with the reviews. The setting is nice, some stairs and we arrived. Okay, let's get some chips... good. But the Quality/Quantity/Award ratio is really not good: we paid a lot for small portions, and they serve us dish after dish, and the rice staggered... we ate cold. Bof. Too bad setting and nice atmosphere.

Great place for delicious traditional Thai food. We shared the vegetarian fried rice, veggies in oyster sauce and chicken cashew nut. 😋😋😋 This place has a fun and cool vibe. Crepe our waitress was super sweet and even taught us some Thai words.

We went there for dinner after reading trip advisor reviews. The place was full of foreigners eating but no Thais. This is generally a bad sign. Our food was very average and the portions so small that the three chicken dishes we had between them probably did not have one chicken breast. The food was padded out with piles of onions and peppers.
We have been coming to Thailand for 12 years so I think we know our Thai food. Compared to other places we have eaten this was below par. We certainly won't come back.
The service as usual in Thai restarts was good. The roof top was pleasant and if the food had been good would have been a good experience.

We found this hidden gem when we happened to find this place as we were walking around looking for a place to eat. Upon walking in we were asked did we wanted to go to the rooftop which we said yes to. As we started walking stairs, after 3rd floor we looked at each other and wondered where we are going. Some 5th or 6th set of stairs after (not that bad - we had our 8 yr old with us), it was a lovely rooftop bar and dining with lots of locals and a few farangs enjoying their meal. The food was delish, the staff were friendly like all Thai people. We really enjoyed our time there. We ordered the whole fried tilapia, pork belly sautéed with vegetables, grilled squid, and spicy octopus. They had a lot of items on the menu and plenty of drinks selections. Highly recommend this place

We wanted a small dinner, and came here based on the high reviews on Google.
DISCLAIMER: this restaurant offers free drinks if you leave a review, which may have influenced overall number/reviews.
NOTE: VAT (7%) and service (5%) are NOT included in thr prices.
We had knee mao noodle, which was tasty, enjoyed the fresh green peppercorns which added unique Thai taste. We also ordered tofu cashew, which was highly reviewed and also tasty, with very reasonable portions.
Rice for curry/stir fry dishes must be ordered separately, for 20bht.

We stumbled upon this bar by chance and we were really pleased we did. After the walk up the four flights to the rooftop you are rewarded with a great view of the city. Drinks are reasonably priced and the beer is served from all kinds of different coolers and kegs.

Dinner without defects! Efficient and fast rooftop service, very well cooked dishes. We had an appetizer of vegetable dumplings and vegetable spring rolls, tempura prawn skewers. Then everyone had a main course, some cashew chicken, some pad thai, some fruit and fish salad.
You spend more than the average restaurant in BKK but it's worth going!

Very nice rooftop patio. We looked at other rooftop restaurants and perhaps they have higher/better views BUT, the food here was excellent and reasonably priced. My wife is a vegan and they had lots of vegetarian & vegan options which were excellent! The staircase up to the rooftop was a bit dodgy, but no big deal. Overall, very good and 👍 from Canada!

We wanted to visit a rooftop eatery as part of our Bangkok tour experience. Palate Bar was the closest to our hotel, and we were wowed by the good reviews.
Whilst the food was certainly not bad, we felt it did not live up to our expectations of it being "spectacular". The climb to the rooftop is a little tiring and the views were better at my hotel instead.

Do not be surprised how to get rooftop, and do not use your nose so much this way, because of kitchen, but if you are on rooftop (6th floor, no lift, stairs are sharp), and weather is not rainy, it is nice experience. Lot to choose from menu (maybe they can reprint), Thai cuisine, but even if you do not like so much spicy, there are plenty of options. Also lot of seafood. Not bad wine list, of course, you are not in France, but if you prefer wine, you can choose, both from red and white. Staff very friendly. Forget for coffee, and tea is only English Twinnings (surprised).

One of the few places where you can get a gin tonic (meaning there is actually gin in the tonic water) and they even let you choose which gin out of some alternatives.
Good selection of beers.
Very friendly service, and nice rooftop environment, at 6th floor (staircase the whole way going through the various rooms, there is a bar on almost each level).
