What a wonderful evening . We booked several months ago to celebrate our wedding anniversary . We were booked for the early sitting at 5.30, but Bangkok traffic meant that we were far too late : 2 1/2 hrs to do a journey that took...19 minutes on the way back ?!? We rang the restaurant and they offered us the 2 nd sitting at 8.30 . We were warmly greeted on our arrival , given a choice of tables and then the theatre began . We chose the matched wine pairing to accompany the taster menu - sublime . Each course was delivered and explained in an interesting and friendly manner . Each course was a work of art , theatre and taste sensation , so many layers of flavours and textures, from start to finish , a triumph . We even had a special surprise personal anniversary course brought to our table . We made the decision to celebrate our anniversary at Saawaan , what a wonderful venue we chose . Thank you to all the staff for an superb unforgettable experience .More

From the start to finish this restaurant provided devious food, great service in a beautiful setting. We arrived a little before our reservation and were taken upstairs for a refreshing drink before not long being escorted to our table. The restaurants consists of about four...tables so it’s very intimate. The menu changes and the wine pairing is great and we’ll thought out. The chef showing us the chicken we would later eat was interesting and we couldn’t fault any of the dishes despite some being a little out of our comfort zone. Great service by all staff. ThanksMore

Saawaan meaning Heaven in Thai is a fine dining Thai restaurant serving a seasonal 11-course tasting menu using techniques and concepts commonly found in traditional Thai cooking, such as grilling,  stir-frying and fermentation. The food is creative and with substance. The restaurant is mentioned on...both Michelin Guide and WB50 discovery. The Green Thai curry was the best I ever had. Professional and pleasant service.More

Being a food lover and a traveler I have had the pleasure to visit multiple Michelin star establishments, however this one ranks at the top of my list. My friend and I did the tasting menu matched with the wine pairing and it was perhaps...one of the most memorable meals I have ever had. Over the last week here in Bangkok I have indulged myself in the Thai cuisine, and experiencing the modernization on various dishes on Saawaans menu sparked immense joy. Each dish presentation was sculpted as if a piece of art , and Kiko our waiter explained in detail every ingredient as well as the heritage of it. A truly surreal experience and I will definitely be coming back to Thailand, just to visit this beautiful establishment again. I wouldn’t be surprised if soon the accomplish their second star!! Thank you to the whole team for making this night our best in Bangkok so far!More

What an amazing experience I had at Saawan! The place is cosy, warm and well decorated. The menu is a fantastic combination of Thai food prepared with the best top end ingredients (from Thailand and also from France, I noticed). The preparation and the tastes...are absolutely perfect. I was also very impressed by the deserts. Thai or Asian deserts in general are not my cup of tea usually but these ones were perfectly made! All the food was great and the service was also following. Good choice of wines too at descent prices. I will certainly come back! Thanks to the Saawan Team for the experience.More

My wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon in Thailand when we found and made reservations for Saawaan and were COMPLETELY blown away by this restaurant. The menu was just incredible, possibly the best meal we've ever had. The staff was so unbelievably kind and...explained the motivations and structure of each dish. We loved Sawaan so much we were able to squeeze a second visit with an updated menu before heading back home. Thank you so much to Sawaan, and would very happily recommend everyone try Sawaan if they are in Bangkok!More

Really pleased with this experience! Two of our party had never had a tasting menu before, and this was a great first exposure. Although there are only 8 courses on the menu, there were also amuse-bouche and several other palate cleansers. The staff explained the...context behind each dish really well, which added a lot to the experience. Everything was delicious, plus they accommodated one vegetarian and one person with several food allergies. It’s also very reasonably priced - a bit over 2300 THB including tax/service charge ($67!) which is much less expensive than other similar Michelin starred restaurants in Bangkok. The only criticism which we had (which we mentioned to the staff while we were there) was that the bottled water was imported from France and very expensive. Considering that this restaurant is all about Thai food, it’s disappointing that they would use foreign water. Obviously really not environmentally conscious either. It’s a very minor flaw (I just hope the management sees this!) and we still really enjoyed our meal.More

Really delicious fine dining set menu. The dinner takes 2-2.5 hours as the staff come by to explain every dish and a few items are prepared table side. Excellent service and everything was perfectly prepared. Still dreaming about the smoked coconut ice cream. Definitely more...geared towards foreigners and tourists (but still quite spicy!) as they explain many fundamentals of Thai cuisine. Pretty good value for the quality of the food and service.More
