We had the pleasure of dining at Thanying, a somewhat hidden pearl on a side road to Silom Road, a quick walk from Lebua. From being greeted in the door, seated in a very nice and well decorated restaurant and until we left again a couple of hours later, we had a truly authentic Thai, but still exclusive restaurant experience.... Their service really good from the first step walk in the restaurant and till the end of our dinner. We really tried the authentic thai food here and will recommend friends here again. Like all their appetizers and 4 variety of curry.

Nice atmosphere, delicious food. Excellent service. This is the place where Thai people take foreign visiters.

was there yesterday for my birthday celebration. the place is quiet, cosy and has a old modern thai feel. we ordered foods that we seldom had in a thai restaurant and all were good. even my brother with a picky mouth said they were fantastic. he said these were the kind of foods he was willing to paid even if... Lovely small restaurant within walking distance of Novotel Fénix Silom Hotel. Charming rooms around garden setting. My husband had whole fried sea bass with garlic and black pepper (Pla Ga-Phong Tod Gra Tiem) and I had a variety plate for 230 bhat of tamarind dip, coconut rice, shredded pork, green chicken curry and green papaya salad...everything really delicious...and so cheap!... Overall the food, service and ambience of this restaurant is good. The bad thing is, after my friend ate the grilled prawns (head and roe) he had food poisoning and has to call a doctor to the hotel. All of us did not touch the head and roe and was spared.

A small friendly authentic restaurant set in a converted house/bungalow off the Silom Road. Really quaint and charming with olde worldy service and a lovely affordable menu and a small but sensible wine list. Crab meat yellow curry dish was outstanding and all other dishes were exceptional also. The only critical feedback/suggestion would be to improve the lighting and make... More

Staying in Silom

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.
