Very popular local Thai seafood restaurant. The chilli crab was different what I am used to (Singapore version) as it was a tad on the sweet side but it was still very nice. The oyster omelette to me was the highlight of the meal. It wasn't the usual oily version and there was tonnes of oysters in the dish. The... More

The Famous Crab Curry was to eggy for us. We orderd on the side FrogLegs, Morning Glory and some Chicken Chili with Cashew. It was ok!

Had a great dining experience even I was not prepared for it! Obviously going to a Seafood place you expect good quality, but here the selections are plentiful and for sure it's topped by all the freshness and flavors. Try the Tom Yam Goong and the Chili crab with egg curry sauce is to try. If you order the humongous... More

We used to live in Bangkok and Somboon's at Ratchada used to be our top choice for any meal gatherings. That was 4 years ago and we came back recently for a visit. Service is still good but the quality of the cooking and taste has dipped from great to average. The only dish that stood out among the 10... More

We have chosen this restaurant today because it is excellent... Just like the occasion of saying farewell to the old and welcoming the new year. The food is EXCELLENT! But we not go there only once a year, we go frequently because of the high quality of the seafood...

I tried Kwang, the other famous restaurant that is about 10 mins' walk from this restaurant and my China colleagues and I prefer this restaurant's food. Overall it's tasty and service is quite fast. Most foreigners prefer Kwang because they accept credit card. I didn't compare the item prices but I think Somboon's is cheaper than Kwang's. I ordered the... More

Amazing Restaurant, Nice Ambiance & friendly staff, Great Food. Must try Crab Fried Rice, Crab in Red Curry. We tried the Sea-bass Fish steamed & deep fried both were equally good. The steamed one was soft & the deep fried was crispy. Just loved it!!!!

We looked at the facade and were not impressed by it. In fact, we had second thoughts about going into the measly looking , seemingly tiny restaurant ( as in, reeeally? This was it?), located as it was in one of Bangkok's side streets. But the tourist guide was gently prodding us to go in, so in we went. We... More

This is a branch of a famous sea food chain of restaurants in Bangkok. Very popular and all the times crowded. Signature dish is the Fried Curry Crab: good but tasteless compared to the ones you can eat in Singapore… Fish is definitely fresh. Staff is friendly enough but not too much attentive to the Customer needs. Be aware that... More
