We wanted to go china town for seafood and upon reaching, the driver said it is closed and suggested this restaurant. We just followed the flow, and upon reaching, we saw many bad review! And what is worst, when we left with another tuk tuk, we saw our driver came back from the back of the restaurant.

Scam - we just had a long tuk tuk ride & were taken here instead of similar spelled restaurant near our hotel Amara, then overcharged by restaurant, staff very stern & not your typical Thai friendly people - lucky we didn't have the lobster etc that is charged by weight or the over expensive beer - beware !!!

Scam between the restaurant and taxi drivers to extort tourists. Grossly overpriced and poor quality seafood. Avoid this place at all costs.

Worst of the worst restaurant to rip you off by overcharged price. Stupidly terrible. The taxi driver took us by recommending it so badly. So we were like let's give it a try. And we ordered crab curry, lemon fish, oysters and Tomyam soup with rice for four persons and they charged us 5400 bahts which is stupidly expensive. I... More

We went to the Somboondee Seafood restaurant via taxi near Indra Regent hotel in Bangkok. Mid way along the journey to Siam Square for another popular good restaurant, the taxi driver recommended Somboondee restaurant for its good food and reasonable price. So, believing the driver, we changed our venue and went to the Somboondee restaurant instead. We ordered pineapple rice,... More

Description
Somboondee Seafood is a RIP OFF. We were directed there by a "helpful" lady on the street who helped to "negotiate" a very cheap Tuk Tuk ride to the restaurant. The food in the restaurant is Sub Par for Thai standard. I can get better quality and taste in any street corner of Bangkok. The service is non-existent. We ordered 5 dishes (1 sliced fish tomyam soup, 1 vegetable, 1 stir-fried chicken with no taste, 1 small crab, 1 squid) and the bill came to 4400 Baht!
