It is a great place with the river view, fantastic sorbet of Below Eleven company, good drinks and coffee. We enjoyed the AC room enormously - direct access to river tram

We stumbled on this restaurant at Riverside City. It's right on the waterfront by the water bus station, so it has a lovely view of all the boats coming and going. Its modern with good food and lots of tourists taking photos and milling around on the walkway in front of the restaurant! I had a delicious cocktail - I... More

Found this restaurant whilst walking around Rivercity & was very impressed by lovely & courteous waiting staff. Very good & inexpensive menu & wine list. Food was freshly cooked & very well presented, delighted dishes including western & Thai. Ended up going four nights in a row.

We came here for dinner. Service was nice but the food very average. We had a burger, pizza, gnocchi (very small portion) and were not impressed at all. At the same time it was one of or the most expensive dinner in Bangkok during our 5-day stay. There are so many better places at less touristic location. The restaurant is... More

Nicely situated by the river and just across the river from Millenium Hilton hotel by 2 minute ferry. In the evening the view tends to get blocked by queues of tourists waiting for the dinner cruise boats. We ate there twice at lunchtime. Food was acceptable though the service was bored and rather unwelcoming for Thailand. Varied menu including Thai... More

We just finished an impromptu dinner at Viva Aviv. The location right on the river is very nice, as was the ambiance, which included a live saxophone player. The food was really the worst part of the experience, and it was good, just nothing overly special. Fairly typical lounge fair. I'd say eat here if you want to enjoy a... More

Staying in Chinatown / Yaowarat

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown / Yaowarat
Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
