This restaurant is a well-known one for Baby boomer and Gen X, located behind Government Saving Bank on Rachadamneun road. Famous menus are Mee Krob(Sweet Crispy Noodle with prawn), Tom Yum Pla Chon (Fish in clear spicy soup), Hor Mok (Steamed Fish with chilli coconut...paste), and many more dishes in home style cooking. Recommended though there is no air-con but it worths the try.More

The Thai food here was some of the very best I tasted during my stay in Bangkok. I had the Mee-Krob (Crispy Thai Vermicelli), also good is the Winged Bean Salad with Toasted Coconut.

One of the best meals we had in Bangkok. Nothing fancy for atmosphere, but totally legit and food was amazing.

After a day at the Palace and temples, we walked down Khao Saan road and headed for this nearby, recommended restaurant. Cheap, delicious, fast and friendly. No AC, but there was an overhead fan. Super dinner with kids who ate their food-that's huge for our...family!More

This was the single worst experience during our 1-week stay in Bangkok: in short, the restaurant tried to cheat us and when we pointed out the difference between the bill and the menu, the owner (?; a guy with a couple of long facial hairs...sprouting out of his warts) started cursing (although he knew almost no English, he knew the F-word very well), throwing the plates on the table and violating personal distance. Avoid at all cost.More

We found this from trip advisor. Do take care crossing the busy junction before you reach this mum and pop Thai. It was good to get away from the piped music and crowds along Khao San Road. Food as mentioned elsewhere was perfect. We picked...3 dishes each and with water this came to 500 Baht. Outside the menu is only in Thai. Don't be put off there are English and Thai menus inside. While we were there only Thai entered. A family, a group of business men and two smartly dressed policemen. Just before we left six ladies from nearby bike came for there takeaway lunch. We were not rushed and food was served as it became ready. I particularly liked the Tom Yam soup. Less spicy than in the UK but with more flavour and freshness. Do not recommend this restaurant our the risk is it becomes too popular with people like me and it will lose its local appeal.More

I was starving in the khao san area and wanted decent food so I went to TA and found this gem. I only had the pad thai, but it was some of the best I have had this trip. It is a hole in the...wall with no English spoken, but aren't those the best places? I am adding this review for the next desperate person in the area.More

Little restaurant on Tanao Rd not far from the Democracy Monument. I ate here before going on a ride with Grasshoppers and it was terrific. Dishes were about 60-90 baht and three dishes plus a big beer and a coke came to 300 odd baht...i think. BARGAIN! Had heaps of takeaway orders while we were in there. TIP: if you want some bargain sterling silver jewellery there are a number of wholesalers on the strip around the restaurant. We bought earrings etc for a fraction of the price here in Australia. Prices ranged from 80-120 baht and a long 925 silver chain was 500 baht. We only bought one pair of each thing so you don't need to be buying in quantity.More

A place you'd easily walk past and not realise how wonderful and authentic their food is. We were advised to try it, we did and now we yell from the rooftop for you to go there. Absolutely low key owner who sat in the restaurant...peeling mushrooms (I think) while we ate. The food was a dozen levels above the street fare that tourists often end up eating. But cheap too.More
