I came here to have lunch randomly and I am very glad. I ordered curry rice and chicken in pineapple and also whip egg and worm. Delicious both of them, specially the pineapple dish, served in the same pineapple. It's a comfortable place, with wooden walls, chairs and table, wonderful to eat relaxed by its pictures and posters. The Hub... More

The place kinda looks like a beergarden. The vibe is nice and the waiters are young and kind. The music volume is nice compared to other places in khao san raod. To me, The Hub looks more like a bar than a restaurant: We also tried a meal (which was relatively expensive) and it wasn't good; better take padthai form... More

We popped in here on a mini bar crawl before we ate and found it was a lovely, relaxed place to sit. We didn't get bothered by any of the street sellers, which can happen every 2 seconds in most pubs and although the beer was a little pricey than some places we didn't come here to pinch pennies. Staff... More

The place location is very good. Just beginning of khao san road, the stuff also is very happy and good. But thr prices are reasonably very high. Especially the drinks are expensive (soft drinks)

We had dinner at the Hub on the 25th of April. The staff was not friendly at all. They kept us waitng before bringing us the menus. We asked about different dishes but the waiter didn't really seem to be motivated to help us. For me it was important to receive a chicken dish without bones, so I explicitly asked... More

Really enjoyed the beer garden. Some of the tables and chairs were carved from trees and there was a good atmosphere. The food let it down. Ordered green curry with roti. The roti were really greasy and I counted about 3 pieces of chicken in the curry. For the price of 150baht I could have good a lot more for... More

The place is in tourist city, in fact backpacker city, so i never expected much. The beer garden is hot in the sun, but looks cool for people watching and a few beers. The indoor section is humid and stuffy, unless you go into the pool bar area, which has air-conditioning at a chilly 25'C, where the tables and chairs... More

This restaurant confirmed all I expected here at Khao San Road: not a real rip-off but not-so-good food for a not-so-low price. I had a river shrimp / seafood salad, which was just edible with very few fish in it, it could have been vegetarian... Service is slow and unattentive. First and last vist. Basta.

We stumbled across this place today for a light lunch after exploring a few temples in the area and Chinatown. It has a nice terrace where most customers were lunching, but we were so hot that we ate inside to enjoy the air conditioning. We tried Thai food and Western food and both were good. The atmosphere was pleasant and... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighbourhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
