The crab in curry sauce is their signature dish and it was superb! Napkins required :). The crab was extremely fresh and succulent. We had other dishes including papaya salad that was properly spicy. They have beer, but not alcohol, although you could bring your...own - as in most Thai restaurants. The decor was historical and in extremely good taste. The restaurant was very comfortable and we enjoyed the ambience throughout the meal.More

Really good seafood. Portions are generous and the service is good. The crab appears to be the go to dish, so that is where we went! The pineapple rice is also excellent.

We frequent this restaurant every year we visit Bangkok, between Siam Square One, Bantadthong, Central Embassy & Udom Suk... We frequent the branches in Siam Square One and Bantadthong more often as we usually stay near Siam Square... We visited the one at Siam Square...One recently. There were less people in the queue this time round so the waiting time wasn't bad... This place is mainly frequented by tourists due to its central location and proximity to all the malls.. I could see many Chinese, Japanese and Korean.... We ordered the usual curry crab, grilled snails, crab meat fried rice, steam fish, fried morning glory, etc... I don't expect 5 star service in a busy restaurant such as this one... as long as they serve 5 star food.. Somboon is still one of the best seafood restaurant around. All the branches I have visited are consistent in the quality of food they served, and are always fresh... Will be back again...More

The food is excellent. But it is true that it become slightly more expensive compared with a couple of years ago.

This was the most expensive meal we had during our 4 days 3 nites Bangkok trip. We went there based on the high rating from TA. We ordered their curry crab, fish, Oysters egg and garlic steam big prawns. The steam prawns was fresh but...the curry crab and fish are mediocre. The oysters egg was a total let down. Among all the restaurants we had eaten in Bangkok, the food we had from Somboon restaurant ranked the lowest. Not worth the trip nor value. We prefer Laem Charoen Seafood more in terms of taste, value and service.More

Visited this outlet a couple of times during each Bangkok trip. For some reason, we found the food quality decreasing each visit we had. The original Somboon outlet still tastes better and the place is bigger. Only reason you will come this outlet is because...of convenience.More

The best dish in this restaurant is the curry crab. Though the name is curry, it is not hot and doesnt taste exactly like curry
