This restaurant was very close to my hotel (Rembrandt), so I decided to give a try with my family, with small or no hope to find something even far from German cuisine. Well, i was totally wrong. The quality and variety of dishes and the choice of ingredients make this restaurant a real German one. I may offer a biased... More

Bei Otto has been around for years. I passed by tonight and they had a sign advertising fresh European white asparagus which is difficult to get. I walked in and asked to be seated in the restaurant and was told it was closed and was seated outside. Even at night the Bangkok heat was blazing and I was dripping wet... More

This bar/restaurant was very close to hotel. The dark German beer was excellent. Food was good and we went back a second time.

Being a German, I would rate this institution of a restaurant probably the best German one in Bangkok. 'Bei Otto' helps to define what typical German dishes are: from the classic 'Currywurst' to some tasty 'Kohlrouladen'. A wide variety of German and local beers complete the experience. An insider tip: Don't miss the Octoberfest frivolities. 4-5 stars ****...*

I have been here many times indulging in what may well be the best Currywurst outside of Germany. You will find this German restaurant and beergarden on the left side of Soi 20, just a hundred meters or so into the soi. Home-cozy typical Bavarian style restaurant offering a wide choice of hearty Bavarian and German dishes. Different typical Bavarian... More

Staying in Sukhumvit

Neighbourhood Profile
Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
