Really small and cute family run restaurant with a huge selection of food with generous portions. The man serving us was so helpful and lovely and it's also very very cheap.

Such a shame when a place looks so promising but serves up less than average food and warm beer, very disappointed! In Thailand it's not hard to get a green curry right, but this was a pathetic effort with what tasted like reheated from day before ingredients, terrible!

I go here often and love the veggie cashew stir fry. The portion sizes are bigger then average and the place is quaint but lots of entertainment watching everyone walking on the street it's on!

We ate one noodle dish and a Tom yum goong here. The tom yum was good, the other terribly bland. We arrived relatively late, maybe 9pm(?). The staff seemed quite disinterested in us, but no attitude or anything like that. Maybe they were just tired after a long day's work. The bill was less than 150 baht, so that was... More

The only reason I can give this place a 2 out of 5 is because the beer prices were really cheap. Let me get to the food. By far, the worst curry we've had in Thailand. Ordered the massaman curry and it was the thinnest, soupiest curry I've seen. It also tasted like chicken noodle soup. Although there were peanuts... More

Nothing special during service no really friendly. Quantity normal and not huge as pretend. Spring roll served still frozen inside and my girl friend sick all the night.

Visited here twice for lunch. European guy who takes order and it is cooked by I guess his wife who is Thai. The food is tasty and very reasonable prices.

Interesting reading the widely divergent views on the Hut Cafe. I visited Chiang Mai in March 2015 and again now (Feb 2016) and have not found a lot wrong with the place. Have had dinners there (mainly Pad Thai and rice with meat dishes) and found them not exceptional, but tasty enough with good size servings. Breakfasts are good. Certainly... More

They must have bucked their ideas up since the bad reviews as all our food was simple, cheap and tasty - two vegetable dishes, two soups and some fried rice. The stir fried broccoli and mixed vegetables in oyster sauce were especially fresh, light and crispy. The service was a bit miserable but definitely can't grumble about the food.

The fried rice was ok but nothing special. I don't recommend because didn't like the quality of the food. Not good value for money.
