We would never have found this restaurant had we not been with our Vietnamese tour guide. It's tucked away but a real gem of a restaurant, the food was superb and Hugh and his family were very welcoming and friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

Here's the Google coordinates since Vietnamese addresses don't work well in Google maps. Just type "11.940848, 108.451667" into the search field. (It's across the street from Audiophile Coffee Shop.) My husband and I spent a month in Da Lat near this restaurant and stopped in...for dinner one evening. What a great place! The owner is really friendly and speaks great English. When we were walking in the neighborhood a few days later, Hieu pulled up next to us on his motor scooter and invited us to his home for coffee! Sadly, we had work waiting for us at home, but that tells you what kind of person he is - a true "people" person! Hieu helped us pick a dinner - he even kept us from ordering too much food by explaining that it was traditionally a shared meal. When it arrived he showed us the proper way to eat. We ordered one of the lẩu (hotpots) which is the Vietnamese answer to fondue. A pot of broth over a small flame with plates of meat, seafood, and/or vegetables. Once the broth boils, it's ready to eat - and it was DELICIOUS! If you're staying in the center of town, this restaurant is a 30-minute walk but it's around the pretty lake so who can complain about that? If you're not up for the walk, taxis are cheap in Da Lat. I highly recommend a visit to this special restaurant.More

I was in Dalat and overheard a conversation regarding this restaurant about how good it was ,so I decided to find it.It was a long walk around the lake but a very pleasant walk.It is a good location near to the old train station.Very nice...and clean and bright .The owner spoke excellent English and his family were delightful .The food was fantastic and authentic in fact I had not had this quality of food and choice before or since .The cost was very good value,It really was a memorable occasion for me and I will make this my first choice if and when I go back to Dalat.A big thank you to Mr Hieu and his family and staff for a wonderful memoryMore

I still vividly remember the day I rode into Dalat by motorcycle from Mui Ne. I had a minor fall off my bike earlier that day (as I am sure most riders have at some point) and arrived into the mountain town slightly beaten, bruised...and disorientated. I pulled into the restaurant hoping to get some local info, and what I found through Hieu's compassion was a friend who helped me get a place to stay, fix my bike, and insisted that I join him and his friends for dinner at the restaurant. The food in its own right was outstanding and really captured the ambiance of what it meant to be traveling through this gorgeous country. It was fresh, local and traditional. So impressed was I with Hieu's restaurant and character that I opted to join him again for breakfast and lunch the following morning before I continued on to Nga Trang. I must say that I miss the food and Hieu's company. I wish him and his family well and highly recommend the restaurant for others to enjoy!More

This restaurant is big enough for family enjoy meal. The price is reasonable, I stayed in Terracota and just walk a little bit, this restaurant is opposite. The menu is about Vietnamese food, but there're some western food, you can order such as: beefsteak, eggs...

We had lunch two times at this restaurant as it is right opposite to our hotel - The Terracotta resort! The only special thing of this restaurant is that it has a very beautiful fish pond which the owner proud that the water's never dry....And because of its special structure, it is very cool when you sit in this restaurant although it is very hot outside! The food is fine, not fresh, not special, we ordered Vietnamese food and it is fine. The price is not cheap but it is fine for tourists! So if you are staying at the Terracotta, Mia or the Cham Villa, you can try this restaurant for lunch!More

Went here on advice from TA and we couldn't believe it was number 3, even my children were convinced I had the wrong address! The setting looked nice and we thought we were in for a real treat. The staff were polite and we could...not complain about the service. But the food was very westernised with small portion sizes. It was also quite expensive for what you got. The food was quite bland with none of the fresh ingredients and herbs that we love about Vietnamese food. There were a few westerners in this restaurant, but otherwise very quiet. We would not go to this restaurant again, there are many better ones further down the TA list!!More

At the time of this review, this restaurant is rated number 3 in Mui Ne, that is the main reason we went. However, it was a great disappointment to us. From experience, highly rated TA restaurants are generally very busy, this one was not crowded...by any standard but we went in and secured a table. We ordered a Cole and a beer, so far so good. For our food order we ordered spring rolls to start followed by 2 different types of prawns along with veggies and rice. The spring rolls were so over cooked that they were crispy on the inside. Fresh prawns tend to just pop out of their shells with the slightest of encouragement. The prawns on the two dishes we had were not going to give up their shells without a struggle. They did not taste bad or we would not have eaten them it was just that they were well below average not nice and juicy as you would expect. The whole experience was below average, we even have to insist that the table was wiped over when it had been cleared to get rid of the dozens of tiny bugs which were scurrying around looking for a free dinner. Sorry but not good service, not good food not good anything.More
