Dined here with 3 of my friends, we immediately fell in love with the place upon entering, it was a good break from the busy streets of Hanoi. The interiors were posh and classy enough to pass as a high end restaurant. All the food we ordered were really good, I just felt like the fresh spring roll I ordered... More

We visited for lunch and returned for dinner, good service and ambiance, excellent food. The quality of the food I would expect to find in Paris, superb. It is pricey, 25 euro per head for lunch, 50-60 euro per head for dinner, but if you want to splash the cash, a great place.

Beautiful elegant fine dining place. Food was exceptional and the service was impeccable. We had the A la carte meal which all taste great and the presentation was amazing. A bit pricey but totally worth it.

Many SE Asia restaurants experience. La Badiane was exceptional. Great menu options, presentation, service (in particular), tempo and restaurant atmosphere. Cocktails were interesting and 'accurate'. Attentive chef and MD. Diverse clientele. Discreet bar. Comme il faux. Recommend strongly - disappointment very unlikely.

The food was very good. Servers were gracious and nice but not very skilled. The room was...nice. "Nice" like your nouveau riche aunt's living room was "nice", faux fancy. For Hanoi, this was an expensive meal. A "I'm tired of eating Asian food meal", not a "I want a Michelin star experience" meal.

We spent our dating by having a table on the upstairs here and my friend non-stop aggreed with the dishes offered us. Nice atmosphere and enough private even in a public room.

Excellent dinner here on recommendation from another visitor. Top class service and gourmet food. A mix of French and Vietnamese. Everything so delicious. Same price as top restaurant in USA or Australia. We had a table upstairs but downstairs has more atmosphere.

Description
Created in December, 2008, by three French friends, Minh Spielmann, Benjamin Rascalou & Anthony Balenci, La Badiane -French for the Star Anise spice- is heralding its claim to be one of the best restaurants in Vietnam dedicated to fusion of flavors and international gastronomy.

Surrounded by harmonious leaf plants, & walls predominantly white alternating with carefully chosen vivid colors, the place provides for a true feeling of calm and elegance, which gathers the best conditions to let your senses express themselves.

When coming in, an open-sky corridor planted with luxuriant vegetation leads you towards the heart of the restaurant. One’s attention will be instantly caught by the multitude of perfumes & aromas flowing out of the open front kitchen.

Then, depending on your mood & weather permitting, you can have your meal in the airy Patio, calm, convivial & surrounded by photographic art works. For a more intimate setting with warm colors you can choose one of the three air-conditioned rooms located between the ground and the first floor.

At la Badiane, all is about food but there’s also great attention paid to the service and the overall atmosphere, so that we make sure you enjoy every aspect of your meal. La Badiane, top 500 Restaurants in Asia by Miele Guide and “Certificate of Excellence” by Trip Advisor in 3 consecutive years 2012, 2013 and 2014 will never fail to satisfy you. Moreover, at this very same “picky” travel community, there were more than 300 upvotes as “EXCELLENT” for La Badiane – a formidable rating which can only be seen for top-end restaurants.
