Three Vietnamese cities are blessed to have a Hoa Vien Brauhaus...besides Hanoi and HCMC, there is one located on the coast, conjoining Mui Ne and Phan Thiet. The setting is like a Bohemian style beer hall...and it has Czech roots (not German, as some posters have surmised). The Becherovka shots are the tell-tale here...and Czech-style fried cheese is one of... More

This restaurant was okay but I have no desire to return there to eat . The food was okay but not memorable , the beer and food was expensive . The service from the staff was good , the decor interesting , there were no chicken dishes on the menu which was a surprise . Didn't impress me enough to... More

We spent a pleasant evening here. The staff were extremely helpful and we liked the decor with its German influence, polished wood and beer barrels. Various historical plaques are placed around the walls adding to the interest. One drawback was the fact that while a variety of beer is available the winelist is very limited, and spirits and cocktails are unavailable.... We visited the Brauhaus at the beginning of the week with some local inhabitants and the business was thriving. They have a very good selection of beers but, if you don't drink beer, you are out of luck if you want wine, for example. The food served was good and there was plenty of it, The decor was a mix... This restaurant is a strange hybrid of German and Vietnamese. Consequently, the atmosphere is a little weird, as is the food. The decor is sort of German with heavy wood furniture, German/Eastern European beer, and wait staff dressed German-like! The food is generally pretty good, but the cost is relatively high. There are both German and Vietnamese dishes - sometimes... More

Went with friends on a weekday night. Wasn't sure if it was open, as they place wasn't almost completely silent (not even music playing), but was assured by the bartender that they were open. Beer is very expensive (2-3 times price of normal bars in Hanoi) and they had run out of everything except regular lager. Would not recommend.

We stopped in because we used to live in Europe and are always after a great Czech lager. It was all right. We wouldn't walk out of our way to get here again, but the schnitzel and ribs were fine. Fried cheese tasty. The beer was not what we hoped---but okay.

I stayed with a group of friends there. This place is near central of Hanoi, just catch a bus or you can walk. The price is so-so. The equipment and facilities is enough for you. Wifi free and a restaurant with many foods.

I joined in a youth event next to this hotel and was arranged to stay in this hotel. Facilitation is enough for you: bathroom, clean comfortable beds, warm water, towels, hair dryer, refrigerator, electrical kettle... For a traveler, I think it is quite enough. In this hotel, there are also Hoa Vien restaurant or you can go next to Lan... More

I have been coming to this place for years and hold VIP membership of the HCM and Hanoi branch. Their dunkel and pilsner are brewed on site with imported Czec malt hops and yeast. I have tried everything on the menu. Their pork knuckle is outstanding. Czec potato cakes, the sausages, prawns wrapped in bacon are all good too. The... More

Hoa Vien, the first & only restaurant that serves the world’s famous Pilsner Urquell draught beer - imported from Czech Republic (1995). As time goes by, Hoa Vien restaurant has acquired significant knowledge and experience in the field of food & beverage and has become a familiar venue for both Vietnamese & foreigners and beer-loving people. It would probably be impossible for us to be in our place today without the enthusiastic support from many customers & friends; especially the continual aid from the Czech Embassy in Vietnam and the Plzen brewery.Collaboration with Pivo Praha, Lukr Ingeneering Company, Beer & Malt of Czech Republic… Hoa Vien has successfully built up the brewery system inside the restaurant - applying Pilsen traditional brewery technology. Saigon Hoa Vien brewery restaurant was opened in 2001 & has been the first brewery restaurant model in Viet Nam. In Hanoi, over 10 years in operation, Hanoi Hoa Vien jubilantly opens its new venue in April 2007, with an area of over 1200m2, located right in the centre of Hanoi, constructed and decorated with the distinctive style & architecture of Europe - just 600m away from the City Opera House and the Hilton Hotel. Constructions & decorations at both restaurants gather our full interest & ultimately meticulous investment. Talented architects have decorated the building with wood & copper harmoniously with antiquity – we offer you the feeling of going back to ancient restaurants in Bohemia at beginning of the last century. Brass kettles are connected by a pipeline system to brewery equipment – installed inside the restaurant. Here, you can look at the continuous stages of the brewery process in reality & in a completely brand-new atmosphere. You can inspect every malt grain from famous Bohemia, gaze at hop flowers from Saatz (Zatec), enjoy young beer with a fascinating flavour in the brewery cellar. Besides quality requirements for input materials (malt, hop, yeast…) required in Technology-Transfer Agreement by our partner in Czech Republic, ante-brew water treatment is done with special filtering technology. Accompanied by these strict requirements, there are technology regulations for the Pilsen traditional brewery process - complied by experienced experts from the Czech Republic working at Hoa Vien everyday. All of the above factors are for the purpose of ensuring the ultimate constant quality of Hoa Vien beer. And for the first time in Vietnam, guests themselves can fill up their fresh beer glasses by beer taps - which are directly connected from beer-tanks in the cellar to drinking tables. This is a new & very special feature of Hoa Vien restaurant… HoaVien Brauhaus is the first brewery restaurant model in Vietnam, with the purpose of bringing high-quality beer to our distinguished guests, creating cultural/food/drinks exchange opportunities to propagate the concept about the Czech Republic’s brewery tradition - one of the greatest prides of the Czech people. Our purpose also includes the multiplication for this model in Vietnam; we are willing to support and offer necessary training for businessmen wishing to reach this model. These years, we have consulted & provided relevant information regarding designs, contrustions, equipment, installations, operations & technology transfers to many customers in Vietnam. The style & operation networks are administered by well-trained & experienced experts. Hoa Vien make sure of offering excellent services & constant quality at a reasonable price for guests’ ultimate satisfaction; creating new job opportunities & a stable working environment for restaurant staff. That target is the lode-star for our success.
