Weird meat, bad service, full of tourists. You would be better off trying a different BBQ place as they are a dime a dozen in Hanoi. We didn't get sick, we ate everything, it wasn't terrible which is why this gets a three. One must grill meat street-side in Vietnam, I would just recommend you try somewhere else.

I stumbled across this chaotic, messy Vietnamese BBQ place on a busy corner by accident while looking for a propaganda poster shop and the discovery proved to be serendipitous. There are plenty of explanations in this thread about how the system works (put your selection in a basket, it’s cooked for you and brought to your table) so I’ll cut... More

The shop owners were preparing the meat when I went there, which was around 5:30pm. The frog, quail meat and a few other smaller chunks of meat were worth giving a shot. Some other meat chunks were too chewy that it was hard to eat and I couldn't figure out what kind of meat they were. Worth visiting once for... More

This is simply the best place we ate at in Hanoi. Basically walk up to where the food is, receive your basket and tongs and pickup the meat you want. They cook for you to perfection and then u can either cook more at your stool table or just keep warm Frog is the best 30000 dong per frog. Whole... More

Passed this a couple of times and decided it was worth a try! It was round the corner from our hotel. Sat down and got a lovely cold beer. Wasn't too sure to how to actually get food to begin with - but you just go up to where the grill is, select your skewers of various combinations of meats... More

This was just around the corner from our hotel... we took TripAdvisor advice and headed in... after selecting meays and vegetables... we sat centimetres off the ground and a food heater was lit. Our foods were BBQed to perfection... this was the most authentic dinner experience we have had so far... are you game enough to eat BBQ offal or... More

We walked past this place a few times and the food looked & smelled so good but we didn't go sit down to eat straight away as we weren't quite sure how it worked, so let me explain... You choose the skewers of meat or fish that you would like and add them to a basket. They will 'par' cook... More

Very good food. Super nice with beer in a cold day. Well marinated meat and big portion. Will have a bbq pan to keep the food warm. But a bit expensive given hanoi average price. Just don't expect too much about food processing hygiene. It's street food.

This street barbecue unfortunately doesn't have an English name. It is a hats shop in the day and converts into a barbecue in the evening. You just go there and choose the meat skewers that you like ranging for chicken to octopus, beef, salmon, prawns, pork, etc. you name it and they have it! The taste is just amazing as... More
