... but I was hesitant after reading a few negative reviews on this site. I am so glad that I was not dissuaded. Friendly, helpful service. Wonderful food. And reasonable prices. Also a great excuse to get to a different part of the city.

We went for lunch and it was one of the best meals we had in HCM. Local dishes, lots of different flavors and a good maitre D; just made our lunch! Recommend picking a bit of everything or asking the waiter to suggest. The menu is humongous and it can overwhelm. Very relaxing lunch, and we ate way too much!

We wouldn't have known of this place if not recommended by the hotel staff. It's located in District 1 but out of the usual bustle of it. So it came as a pleasant surprise when we arrived and stepped through the entrance. Just love the interior deco...makes it so "homely-feel". The creative ideas are everywhere in the restaurant - from... More

Came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. Had a range of starters between 3 of us main courses. Sat outside in the garden area. Place is beautiful laid out, if in the area book a table.

Pros: nice ambiance, good service, extensive menu Cons: nothing was very good I rarely write negative reviews, but this place just doesn't deserve a good rating. We had flavorless banana flower salad with chicken (mostly skin & gristle), dry "caramelized clay pot pork" (which was neither caramelized nor, we suspect, even clay pot cooked), bland mixed vegetable, and spring rolls... So pleased we came to this restaurant- some of the best food and cocktails we had in Vietnam! The soft-shelled crab and sea-bass in passion fruit were two stand out dishes and the papaya salad was lovely. A beautiful setting and very helpful staff. Definitely recommend.

Even though it is hole in a wall but it is not. The original "The Brick" was an Architectural Office, and the name sake is still on the entrance. Since it is so successful the "The Brick" expanded onto the building across the street. So make sure your party knows which building they supposed to be entered. You will enjoy... More

Very nice little restaurant with very good Vietnamese food. The catfish was especially good that we order it twice.
