Nice enough restaurant with good fresh food. Lovely decor and loads of seating available, very comfortable settings. Ordered a few dishes.....Vietnamese rice pancake, Fried tofu with salty egg, and some pork spring rolls served with fish sauce......all washed down with beer. The food was ok,...not amazing, but good enough. Certainly tasted very fresh and well cooked. The tofu dish was awful, i am not sure whats the idea with the salty egg, but that is my fault here as I wasn't aware of the dish. The spring rolls were very good,, very tasty. After the food we decided to have a few cocktails.......which were not great to be honest, too much ice and alcohol....not enough of the mixer.... The service was a tad bit slow too, and they were not overcrowded.....but the best thing was that the price for a big feed and a good bit of alcohol was just less than 30 Euros, thats not bad in anyone's books. All in all a pleasurable few hours spent here. I think the setting makes it really here, good decor and a relaxing ambiance.More

Reliable place for group dining because there are many choices. Food is delicious but price has going up. I have been coming here for 10 years plus. The place changes owner few years back but food seems to be consistent.

Came here for dinner with friends who’ve had good experiences here previously. It was 8pm on a Saturday night and they were out of plenty of staples. Service was lacklustre. We grabbed a few dishes and a drink but we’re chased out. Wouldn’t bother again...and I wish the Covid excuse wasn’t trotted out.More

i WENT TO THIS RESTAURANT VERY RECENTLY. In February this year(2022) I went with my Vietnamese wife, and several family members. The food was excellent, the service also excellent. We had a small baby with us and they provided us with a baby high chair....The choice of beers, drinks, wines etc was very good. So I think the restaurant must be under new management. All in all we had very good food, and service at very reasonable prices.More

As it had been repeatedly reported recently SERVICE is awful; a manager in coma hides somewhere on fringes and is more interested on arranging botanicals around the place than supervise waiting staff; waiting staff is nowhere to be seen, you have to yell *on top...of lungs *, and repeatedly!, to get finallysomeone's attention. FOOD: both menu for Vietnamese food is average so is a food itself. Absolutely nothing that would be better than on low chairs on the street. AMBIENCE: this is the only competitive point, but we are coming, in the end, to eat, and get served (otherwise we could get the same or better, 5x cheaper food right on the street), especially on repeated visit. AVOID for coming months to allow management a pay cut that they switch on their brain where their priority lies to serbe plant pods or customers.More

My husband and I came and hoped to enjoy a lovely dinner together. We originally ordered 3 dishes (banh tam bi, bun mang ga, canh bun) so we can both try different dishes. I finished my first dish (bun mang ga) and started to have...reaction to msg “bot ngot”, something we didn’t expect to be used in a decent/semi high-end restaurant. I started to have a bad headache and numbness in my chest and my face. I asked to speak with the manager of the restaurant. He came over and blatantly told us that they use msg in all of their dishes. This is not cheap street food. Im so disappointed in the quality of the food and the way this restaurant handles my situation! We will never come back here!More

Based on recommendation half a dozen of us ate here on first night in HCMC. Menu is vast and we decided to order a number of courses to share. We seemed to be the only customers and some staff sitting around with little to do....A couple of our party wanted wine but the waiter didn't understand us but did not attempt to get help from his colleagues. The food was okay but service dire especially given lack of customers. The toilet facilities were also unpleasant for such a restaurant location.More

When, the waiter came to take our order he kept looking us up and down. Whilst my friends were still deciding what to order, the waiter who had “waited” to long, gave us the notepad and a pen, and told us to ORDER OURSELVES. Food...didnt arrive at the same time, we had all finished our dinner while one of us hadnt even had her meal (group of 4). Very unprofessional (making customers do the sercice in unacceptable) and horrible attitude/service. Only good thing has to be the venue and the food.More

We ate here last night and were underwhelmed to put it mildly. For the previous 3 nights we dined well and at a low cost in Ben Tranh Food Market but when our trusted Guide Book said Quan An Ngon served “the very best street...food “ in stylish surroundings, we decided to give it a try. The surroundings were stylish but things went south from there. The menu is HUGE. My shredded chicken in a clay pot arrived no more than 2 minutes after it was ordered, suggesting it was one they had prepared earlier but the little side dish of Soy Sauce was welcome as without it the food would have had no taste. My wife’s Papaya was the worst of many she has tasted on our travels. Even the fact that no one gets a napkin shows how little they care. It’s back to reliable Ben Tranh for us tonight 😀.More

The food and atmosphere was great, however they double charged me on my credit card at the end of the meal. I see by reviews now that has happened more than once. I have contacted them and as of yet still have not received my...money back yet. Pay in cash and you will enjoy your mealMore

Flashy restaurant with average minus food quality. The waiters do not care...and the price is not really cheap. A kind of tourist trap. The decoration of the restaurant is nice.

We attended this restaurant for dinner as a group of four. Each of the meals came out seperately with quite a gap in between, when one of the meals arrived we asked what it was so that the right person could get it as they...were all similar and they advised it was mine, i proceeded to eat it noticing that some ingredients may not have been accurate. Two of us had completed our meals and i was just finishing mine when we asked where the 4th meal was. After many requests they finally delivered the last meal, which we then noticed was supposed to be my meal and the meal we were waiting for was actually presented to me earlier. We raised this mistake with the server who, after much prodding brought the manager who quickly took my meal away (which i wasnt finished) and told the other guest they could re order their meal. Everyone was already done and we were so dissappointed with the service that we told them no, just dont charge us for the meal you screwed up. The manager said he couldn't do that, we advised that we would not pay for it since we didnt get what we ordered. He said sorry but that is not how it works and you will have to pay, we pushed the issue and then the manager said that the server would have to pay. We left, very disappointed and somewhat angry about his response. On top of that, they charged for wet ones that were delivered with the meal.More

Ngon mean delicious and some of the food was. However the food we got was not always what was pictured on the menu - eg the roast duck was not slices of breast meat as in the pic but a leg of duck that was...mainly skin, fat and bone. The pork chop with broken rice was the thinnest chop we’d ever seen, again not like the thick one in the pic. The two types of pork with vermicelli and greens was good as expected and the chicken cooked in a coconut was very tasty - however there was very little chicken in it, mainly mushrooms. This restaurant is apparently part of a chain - the name Quan Ān Ngon does not appear on the outside or on the menu or bill - it is actually Nha Hàng Ngon at 160 Pasteur St. It is very attractive and the service was fairly good, but the most annoying thing was they charged for the wet wipes they gave you at the start of the meal. The cost was only minimal - 2,000 vnd per wipe ( about 13 cents AUD), but it was the gall of it!More
