We tried many halal restaurants and my aim was to order only the pho to see which was had the best. I liked the broth from The Daun Restaurant, compared to the rest which were too sweet (could hardly taste the herbs). Although the posters inside the resto said they were open for breakfast but they only open at 10am so no pho for breakfast. Nice to pair it with hot coffee. Ambiance is so-so.

The only best halal food in HCMC. The quality of food served is excellent and delicious and prepared with care. The owner is a dedicated man who obviously cares greatly for his business, his food and above all his customers. Halal food a novelty in HCMC and therefore the prices are higher understandably. However, having eaten at other neighboring restaurants, none satisfied me with the quality of their food as Daun did. Other restaurants were noisy, cluttered and served seriously bland food. I think what has happened is that since halal food in HCMC is rare, other outlets don't care about quality as much since the Muslim customers will be forced to go to these restaurants. Daun, on the other hand, is still dedicated to serving great food. For that I am truly grateful. Don't take my word for it. Feel free to compare yourselves.

We visited as tempted by the range of cuisines. We chose Vietnamese - pho and Malaysian - tom yum, both of which were packed with fresh flavours and the cheeky plate of fries were a good taste of home too.
The decor is simple and clean and the welcome was genuine and warm.

Based on the reviews, we thought this restaurant would be great. We were a group of 9 people - they did not accommodate us with seating, they didn’t even greet us (mind you we were a very flexible group). I understand we were a large group and it was NYE. However, they were out of everything - club soda, juice, coconut water!!! The food was super bland, the service was terrible and the worst of all was that the manager was not bothered at all. He did not even try to accommodate us. He simply said that there were too many people eating in the restaurant during the day hence they were out of everything. No apologies or anything from him. I was shocked when I saw the restaurant wining a trip advisor excellence food award from 2015-2019. I honestly believe it is a scam. Don’t waste your time here, it’s not worth it!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We know you were part of a group of 9 that unfortunately saw the very worst that we could offer, and we cannot apologise enough to you. It was a night where it seemed to snowball, and everything imaginable went wrong, and you and your group did not get the quality in food and service that we pride ourselves in.
The day you visited our restaurant was the day when we experienced almost full house diners since we opened for the day and of course, it was New Year’s Eve. Our operating hours as stated (10 am to 10 pm) and thus, usually we would appreciate a phone or online reservation (via our FB page) especially for large group (more than five diners).
Although we do accept criticism openly, we don’t agree with any baseless accusations. We did accommodate your group by having the tables specially re-arranged for you and our manager did apologise for the shortcomings of having late dinners on the New Year’s Eve – that night. You had your choice of dining elsewhere after realising that we had run out almost everything we offered on the menu.
Our restaurant won the TA awards simply because of our satisfied customers around the world who had experienced our good quality food and the services that came along with it. More than 90% of satisfied customers gave positive reviews based on their experiences and we are proud to have served them. Definitely, none was ever a scam.

We had fried spring rolls, Vietnamese Chicken Nudle and Vietnamese Spice Beef Nudle. All had a flat flavour, the spring rolls had a mushy texture and an undignified not so pleasing aftertaste. We did not finish our dinner :-/. Big disappointment. Can not recommend it.

Food is okay but very pricey when pay in Myr. Please pay with dong if you guys planning to eat here. 2 dishes cost me MYR50 🥹 Nasi ayam penyet & Nasi goreng seafood with 1 mineral water. The chicken is reheat i think bcs not fresh . Hm

The food was good! I had fresh spring rolls, roti john, pad thai and avocado juice. Everything was delicious! The chilli paste was unique and tasty too, and my friend purchased a tub to bring back home to our country.

Small family restaurant, welcomed at door by their young son.Ordered a selection of vietnamese and thai food for our family of 5. All dishes were freshly cooked and were very tasty. Highly recommend!

Small compact but warm restaurant, quick serve, and delicious food. First time trying Local Vietnam Food but Halal, and the taste is basic and it seem very healty food since not much seasoning on it, but we can add spicy on it to make match with my Indonesia taste. Overall is good and will come back when I back to visit HCM.

This is a small restaurant thats being ran by a sweet family. We had fresh spring rolls, Vietnamese pancake and smt Indian that i cant remember the name, and they all were very delicious. Mango smoothie was superb. Staff is very friendly and prices reasonable. Highly recommended!

I'm not a big soupy noodles and was looking for dry noodles for a while. Good place. Tried the cantone mee goreng. And they even prepared the prawns/shrimp without tails as per my request. Family run restaurant with welcoming hosts

We were looking for somewhere to eat on our walk from the Rex to the Sky Bar. The owner and his wife basically run the place and greet you when you enter. You do not find that much anymore. The menu had plenty of choice, and the food was delicious. Would go back.

The best malay halal restaurant in Ho Chi Minh. The food is so fabulous also consists of Vietnamese dishes! Vietnamese Ommelette is a must have & interesting to have on your table for a starter.
Nothing more original and most of all its Halal Muslim owned!
Don’t forget to have the Teh Tarik too!

Best bahn mi we've had and great squid as well. The chocolate iceblend was amazing and just what we needed on a hot day.
The restaurant is cool and clean and the owner is very friendly as well.

One of the best halal food in Ho Chi Minh. We went twice during our 4 days stay along the Halal street. Both owner and wife are very friendly and knowledgeable! Food is great, service was fast and efficient. We enjoyed the authentic beef noodle the most . 😊
