How is Daikokuya rated?

My husband and I just ate lunch here and the food and service are great. It was fantastic to sit and watch the chef and pick up a few cooking tips! Very reasonably priced...2 meals, 2 beers, 2 waters for approximately $28 AUD.

unexpected quality

We stumbled on the Daikokyua restaurant while strolling around the area near to our hotel. Not exactly luxurious but clean and comfortable. Service was friendly - food was good. sake was reasonable and we had fun. Recommended.

Some good Japanese food at affordable budget

Daikokuya is my favourite as it serves very tasty and fresh Japanese cuisine at very affordable prices. Ask for lunch menu, which is served anytime, offering a full tasty lunch at a very reasonable price. Other reviewers mentioned bad service. It is true that service...is average, nothing special indeed, but I never felt neglected or served wrongly. Good food, good value for money, especially the lunch menu.More

Worst service ever!!!

Recommended by a friend, stopped by hear last light (Sunday). Food was good, beer was cold, but the table service was pathetic - by far the worse service I have ever received in Ho Chi Minh. The 3 stars are for the food only, minus...1 for the service.More

Delicious!!

We had a great night here! The staff were all very lovely and the good was amazing!! The menu looks good but what came out was exceptional. Very very happy. We even thought about going back the next day for lunch or dinner
