We visited Lanterns 2 times and both visits vere incredibly good. Staff is quick and knows english well. Food is high above average and prices are incredibly low for the quality provided. Price/quality ratio is the best I have ever experienced. During our second visit we experienced about 10 minute blackout, but staff lit candles within seconds from start and... More

We ate here twice during our stay in a hotel opposite and both times we were very happy. The food served was all tasty and the drinks were very reasonable. The service was excellent in what was a very busy restaurant.

We decided to dine here after reading reviews and seeing people line up to eat. What a disappointment! We fortunately arrived before it got busy. Ordered fresh spring rolls, which were tough and chewy. The chicken stir fried noodle dish was greasy and the penne pesto didn't taste anything like any pesto I'd ever eaten. They certainly didn't use basil.... More

We've already been twice to the Lantern, the first time we only had to wait 5 mins , the time 20mins but it's well worth the wait. As usual we needed a table for 6 pers - no problem as they can also accommodate large groups e.g. a group of 36 Danish students arrived after us , a very long... More

A long queue outside is often a good sign. Our visit unfortunately coincided with that of two large groups. Tables for 2 came up quite frequently (we only waited around 20 minutes) but people in groups of 3 or more waited far longer. As a result, I think booking ahead is a very good idea to avoid disappointment. The menu... More

We really enjoyed the cooking class put on by Lanterns. The experience at the market was great, but with our group of 8 people it was a little crowded and hard to hear the guide at times. They give you the option to book the cooking class private for the same cost, so I would recommend this if you are... More

Had to wait for a table at this restaurant, and by reading the reviews on TA, this was fine by us. Once seated, after 25 mins, we were graciously lead to our table. Ordering the meal & the speed to table were great, however the meals were very bland. Vietnamese curry had hardly any taste (needed salt or something). Felt... More

Wanted to try this restaurant as I'd been disappointed with the food in Nha Trang so far. Nice decor. Staff were very busy preparing some take out boxes when we arrived. These were taken to the front of the restaurant and given away to people in need for free. If you're not familiar with this restaurant's philanthropic work, check it... More

As a group of 17 we ate at this place twice. The food was good and good sized servings. Staff were OK but their English translations were not always the best. I would go back on my next visit.

On a busy Friday night our plane flew in late so with no time for a booking we showed up at 7pm and got told a wait for a table would be about 5 mins. Sure enough it was and the food was so worth the wait. Very cheap drinks.. coke only 18000vnd and the food was pretty cheap too.... More

We have been operating since 2008 and hold half day cooking classes for visitors to Nha Trang at a cost of $24 USD per person. It is a great experience of travelling to the local market, buying food and then preparing 3 dishes as chosen by the guests. We also provide a small recipe book at the completion of the tour, as a memento and keepsake. We are also keen to differentiate ourselves from all the other dining places in Nha Trang and give the customer a unique Vietnamese experience. One area is, we are strongly supporting 12 local orphanages. I spent 2 months travelling through Nha Trang & Vietnam & spent a lot of my time with the children at orphanages. As a result, I am trying to give back to these kids, by teaching them life skills and how the real world operates, outside of the usual visits and photo opportunity. That's where the idea for Lanterns came. We invite kids and their careers to each at least one day per month, but any time they wish to come. We encourage the schools/orphanages to allow the older kids to gain work experience at our place and meet the people who visit Vietnam first hand, in a friendly helpful environment. One thing I am strongly committed to, is making sure the kids are not exploited in any way and nothing is ever done without discussing it & getting approval from the carers involved.
