Everyone must get the tarantulas once--but only once as it's more of a novelty than a delicacy. The food here is always spot on and I've never had anything I didn't like and by now I've tried everything on the menu! It's Khmer food presented very nicely in a quaint and romantic atmosphere and everything is very clean which Westerners... More

Romdeng is set in a beautiful old house in two floors. Specialities are insects but there are plenty of Cambodian dishes without creepy crawlies. I ate beef salad with ants which was quite edible as ants were too small to notice. Cambodian dishes were very good. Service was polite. We managed to get table without resevation.

Came here on a small group tour. Didn't think I'd be particularly adventurous but ended up eating a fried tarantula for a starter!!! The food was great overall (including my safer main meal) and cocktails. Would come here again.

The Romdeng restaurant is part of the Tree Alliance social enterprise restaurants which are training restaurants that use profits to invest back into the students who train there to help them become skilled and successful in their profession. There are a number of these restaurants in the country, and this one was very good. Food was good, lots of local... More

We wanted to try some local foods and meals without going all the way out to "back street dining".... I know it sounds meek, but you don't have to have the full "experience" all the time. And for that this place was perfect. Great wine choices as well. Although if they relaxed a little, it would be even better.

A little out of the way, this was a lovely evening. Recommend the brownie, the curry, the Amok and the fish. Part of a great initiative.

Delicious food and wine, smiley staff and crunchy spiders - what more could you ask for? And they train vulnerable young people too!

The fact this restaurant supports a local charity was a factor why we decided to eat here but we were also persuaded by the positive reviews. The restaurant is in a lovely old mansion and creates a lovely relaxing environment. We shared the duck spring role starter which was delicious. I had the chicken and basil stir fry which was... We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel. We just turned up in the evening and although it was packed the waiter found us a table next to the pool. The restaurant is actually an old colonial villa and is charmingly lit throughout. The menu has a reasonable selection, including deep fried tarantulas and a dish with red tree ants... More

Open Monday to Sunday from 11am to 10.30 Pm (kitchen closes 9.30Pm) Romdeng is set in a beautiful colonial building whose wooden carvings, tables, chairs and unique lights were all hand made in Cambodia. The silk goods and cushions adorning Romdeng were made by our students in sewing training at Mith Samlanh and its walls are hung with beautiful paintings produced by young people from the art classes there. All of this plus a pool, free WIFI, a family area and a gift shop mean a visit to Romdeng is a must.

We would like to inform you that ROMDENG Restaurant will be closed for Khmer New Year and will reopen on the 6th of May 2014.
