We came to this cafe, which is at the edge of Taksim square, for deserts. They had a nice selection of locally made pastries, biscuits and chocolates. They had non of the famous Turkish baklavas. We had the traditional chay (tea) afterwards

It has a nice open area by the road overlooking the Taksim square and... More

I travel heavily for work. I therefore have to eat in restaurants a lot. This was a walk up. It is excellent. On par with any great cafe in Europe. Try the veal tenderloin with a nice red wine. Bon A petit.

Gezi Istanbul is a lovely little oasis at the corner of Taksim Square. If you are visiting Taksim Square, it is one of the best options if you want a proper sit-down meal with waiter service. The menu has something for every taste, including some nice salads. The chicken schnitzel is a reliable choice, too. You want pizza? They've got... More

Well i tasted their omelette with ezine cheese and herbs, with olives. It was delicious. The tea was not good enough and there was just one kind of bread. And when i asked for the bill, i paid with cash and when they brought the change, i realized that they recalculated the bill and charged me 3 liras more. For... More

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.
