I got used to restaurant staff in Turkey being pushy and quite annoying. The people here were fun, accommodating, and relaxed. They gave us a ton of free stuff (appetizers, tea, etc.). He promised to refill my wife's tea all the time and he delivered....More

As anyone who has been to Istanbul knows how you get hassled by the staff to go into their restaurant, we were hassled in here to eat. Then we sat for 15 minutes without being even given a menu, so we left. Avoid this place.

We had the most wonderful Iskender here a year ago. Tasty meat with warm butter and yogurt. I couldnt wait to come back for the same meal. The touting was so aggresive but we walked straight in and took a seat. Then nothing happened. Eventually...More

Food is exemplary, staff are amazing, a credit and an asset to the proprietor. 10/10! Very attentive, incredibly polite with the added bonus of very English humour!

Having eaten in some great places on previous nights, we headed to the centre of Sultanhamet and stopped here. It was decidedly average. Firstly, service was the slowest and least attentive we received. My husbands chicken was fatty thigh meat and not worth the cost....More

A lot of the touristy restaurants around the main streets and squares of Sultanahmet seem a bit interchangeable, but I’m yet to have a bad meal in any of them. I had some meatball dish at Mozaik and it was tasty enough, perhaps a bit...More

Ate dinner here recently. Prices are high compared to other places in the same area with similar menus. Service is apathetic - staff should be told to spend less time checking their phones and more time attending to customers! The food is good but no...More

The food was okay-to-good, but certainly not excellent and not traditional Turkish when compared to some of the other places that we have eaten at around Turkey. Service was okay and the ambience was, once again, okay. Overall... not bad, but nothing to leave a...More

I walked by this place often as it was just a stone's throw from my hotel. I'm glad I stopped in. There are tables inside and out. I opted for outside so I could people watch as I ate. I had an appetizer of a...More

With so many unmissable attractions within a mere
stroll of each other – and all set around the site of
an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an
overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a
prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly
epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the
Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this
relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to

"The Mozaik restaurant, with its three floors and a basement, is housed in a nicely renovated Ottoman house. As much as possible of the original was preserved, hence the rather small rooms with plenty of tables for two, wooden floors and creaking stairs. The perfect setting for a candlelit tête-à-tête dinner. The cuisine is mainly Turkish and international."
