Limited menu all done well. Fast service, reasonable (lower than elsewhere) and mainly a local clientele. This restaurant is only 1/2 block from Sultanahmet Square and just behind the Basilica Cistern so convenient and first rate.

Best restaurant we've been to in 4 days. Not many menu choices but what they make they do well. Lentil soup and lamb kebab were great. French fries fresh and hot. The meatballs okay but not the best we've had. I will come back for the soup and lamb kebab. Oh yeah and one of the cheapest meals we had... More

Sultanahmet kofte is one of the most known and prefered food in town. Especially in the old days ( before hamburger founded😄). Doner and meatballs were the only food available in town on street restaurants. The oldest restaurant still alive is this one. A must try food and a must visit place 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Have been there few years ago as well. This time I took my friends. They all liked it. Kofta Kebab is mouth watering. Very highly recommended.

I've been to this place three times. Always crowded but always good to have a meal there. Just choose the first item on the menu! It's the best meatballs you'll eat for a reasonable price.

This place is good for a little snack in the middle of the day. The menu is simple, the kofte are very tasty, I didn't particularly like the pilaf. The service was nice but they didn't have any tea or coffee. I thought they were joking. They were not. Not sure if they ran out or just don't serve (seems... More

Walked in to get a sandwich to eat inside since it was freezing outside. The guy just said no and pointed to the door and said sandwiches only take away. I had to order a plate to sit down. The rest of it was plain rude customer service. I don't care if they have good food. This is istanbul! Everyone... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
