After hearing and reading all the reviews decided to give this restaurant a try and it wasnt far from my hotel. We waited a while for the waiter to take the order. Then the food took a while to come. We then decided to order desserts and after twenty minutes of waiting, decided to pay and leave that is when... More

A good recommendation is to eat where the locals eat. This is a great place for traditional Turkish food with great kebabs, salads and pide (Turkish pizza). It's always busy but there's always a place to sit.

We dined there as part of the city tours package and we were not disappointed. We had the lentil soup (served with bread), grilled chicken and meat kebabs served with salad and rice, ending with the portion of baklava. If you are in the area try it.

I see mixed reviews here. This is one of my favorite restaurants for lunch, so I am not sure about dinner, maybe the quality goes down. I also never go here during rush time, and I am always with a local. That said, I love the selections at Tamara, and find that many of the dishes (tava, for example) are... More

A delicious meal at this restaurant was provided by Turkish Airlines as part of our city tour. This included starters, main meal, drinks and salad. Whilst some of my colleagues went for the meat kebabs, I opted for chicken and it was delicious! From the happy smiles around the table, it seems as if the rest also enjoyed theirs with... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
