I think many of the negative reviews here may be about the place next door as they talk about items that aren't on the menu here. This place is almost fast food style and serves just few items with the best seller being the grilled mackerel sandwiches. We really enjoyed these as a very Istanbul experience, and would definitely recommend... More

We had a wonderful meal here served by a friendly waiter. Mustafa helped us decide on the dishes we wanted and all were delicious. We had several small plates that we shared (among 6 people) and then some larger main course dishes that we also shared. The calamari was about the best I have ever eaten. The scampi was a... More

Tout forces you in. After that terrible service and food as well as over priced. Staff are very threatening.

The worst dinning experience ever. The tout literally forces you to sit down because if walk another 5 steps you realise all the restaurants server same food much cheaper (2/3rd). Tout smooth talks and is very nice until you have ordered. Then the true colours come out. We were told we would get bbq grilled sea bass and spaghetti bolognese.... More

My wife and I visited Cansin in the Eminönü area for a fish (mackerel) roll for lunch based on occupancy levels. They were tasty and reasonably priced (8 lira). Pepsi was 4 lira. Toilets were however not clean.

We had a different experience to some of the other reviews. We really enjoyed the food - mackerel on a bread roll with salad. The view is fantastic as well. The washroom was not too clean. There was no paper towels nor was the hand dryer functional. The service was good and we did not wait long for our food.... More

Good location for a restaurant facing the bosphorus but the owner is not a straight guy. He promised certain freebies and then added unwritten taxes making it a no bargain deal. Food was at best OK

This place is all about the view, the location is nice looking up the Bosphorus. The waiter on the front promised us the freshest of fish that I reckon was frozen, the rip off was the wine, they tactfully draw your attention to fish by the weight and then you take your eye off the ball on the wine, 180... They are cheating by putting a guy on the front with fish and he told you a price completely different than the price you will find in the voucher after you finished your meal. طاقم من النصابين والمحتالين يقومون بإعطاء سعر وبعد أن تتناول وجبتك تتفاجا أن السعر قد تضاعف ووزن السمك قد تغير في الفاتورة

Like at other restaurants in Turkey, we were lured inside by smooth talking servers. As we were wanting to eat the traditional fish sandwich, we chose this place based on the occupancy. Rather crowded. We were taken to a table and offered drinks right away. Ordered the sandwiches, which were great!! As soon as we were done, they started clearing the... More

Staying in Grand Bazaar

Neighbourhood Profile
Grand Bazaar
Tourists, hawkers, and locals come together at the Grand Bazaar to comb its labyrinthine passageways in search of a bargain – be it a pair of brand name jeans, a handcrafted silk rug, or a perfectly brewed cup of tea. Outside the vast bazaar, worn, narrow streets wind their way down from its lofty perch to the southern shore of the Golden Horn, where the evocatively aromatic Spice Bazaar beckons alongside the elegant New Mosque (opened in 1665). Nearby, the famed Galata Bridge offers pedestrian access to urban delights across the river in Istanbul’s more residential and contemporary neighbourhoods, while the must-see sights of Sultanahmet are but a leisurely stroll away.
