"The American Colony Hotel has a unique place in the history of the area, having endured countless challenges and a series of wars. It was the venue from which the white flag—made from a bed sheet from one of the Colony’s hospitals, currently displayed at the Imperial War Museum in London—was taken in 1917 to initiate the truce that ended... We've been there on a Friday evening and had the buffet dinner. Great food with a huge choice, very friendly staff, reasonable price for the location and the food.

Good service and tasty quality food. On Fridays they have oriental buffet - don't miss it. By the way it's the only place I know where you can eat on Friday evening in Jerusalem. And it's non kosher. Suggest to reserve a table in the patio where is a little fountain surrounded by lush greenery, the atmosphere is calm and... More

A American colony is one of the popular places in Jerusalem to eat hummus, but it isn't The Best, even not the mediocre - because of the price

Very good indeed although not cheap. Service attentive and personal. Best to visit in early evening. As the name suggests very colonial, calm and pleasant. Food was excellent.

We came here for cocktails a couple of times during our stay. Beautiful gardens to sit in, very nice staff and a good selection of drinks. Lovely complimentary bar snacks too. If you're a rum fan be sure to have a 'punch in the face' - it's a delight!

we were a large group that ordered a buffet style meal on the roof top. The appetizers, salads/dips and mains were excellent. The desserts were average. The service was excellent. The atmosphere on the roof is peaceful and relaxing. I look forward to coming back and dining in the beautiful garden area.

If you need a moment to step out of Jerusalem and sink into American style comfort, this is the place to go. It's not cheap but definitely comfortable and relaxing with great service and drinks!

Wanted to give a review of the bar in the garden, not the restaurant as we were there only for drinks. Lovely location - really quiet. The restaurant tables seemed well spaced out, in little almost private alcoves. A really lovely setting. The bar is like a little kiosk where you can sit around it and order directly from the...
