The food is amazing!! The owner is compassionate about his visitors and treats us like family! Lamb chops are my fav! It's a must stop and you won't be disappointed! Been to Jerusalem 4 times and I stop by a couple of times during my...More

Basti has a great location so we decided to eat here because we were exhausted and it was the first thing we saw. It has a/c which was nice and there were large tour groups there. The food was overpriced. My husband got a pizza...More

Walking through the old city and along the Via Dolorosa, you'll find this quaint cafe offering pizzas and Pita sandwiches such as falafel and chicken schwarma. Delicious, good quality and fast service. Price was very reasonable, $13 per person, with drink included.

I ate here for the majority of my stay. This is in part to the excellent quality of food but also the friendliness of the staff. Even if we passed them during the day, they would always stop us to just say hello and ask...More

Average quality and expensive. Well situated. Once we finished our dinner they tried to cheat us with a fake tour of the Via Dolorosa. Do not accept any "help" from them, they just want your money.

We didn't find anything else, so we got in. They charged us 400 NIS ($100) for a lunch that should cost 200. The food wasn't anything special, and unlike other Arab restaurants, the dishes were small and not generous at all.

I went to Basti's twice in a week's time--once as a solo woman traveler, once w friends. The first time, I was significantly overcharged per set menu prices--but given that I'd just seen the proprietor try to pick a physical fight w a passerby, I...More

The pizza was soft and chewy but still very light. Freshly made, basic toppings. 35 shekels includes a lemon and mint drink. Whilst this is not cheap by Spain's prices, it's reasonable here.

The Basti has a top location on the Via Dolorosa in the old city of Jerusalem. The owner is happy to talk you into outdoor seating and the choice of the day, chicken shawarma. The food was good but not great. Good spot for people...More
