From the act of receiving properly with very experienced hostesses and walters to the gourmet plates, everything is first class. No snobbish attitudes, no show-off, just a place to enjoy the old art of the table. A very reccomendable place.

Crowded in January / as most of the places in Puntal. Famous for excellent beef; be prepared to wait,... but that I was used to. During my stay we have been several times at this place. On this occasion I ordered a Ancho Beef Medium....It arrived well done... Not acceptable in a beef place in my understanding, But more surpringing was the answer of the waiter when I mentioned the problem: "Closer to the bone it will be less done...) Will avoid this place.More

We lived in Uruguay for about five years. My wife and I enjoyed visiting El Palenque in both Montevideo and Punta del Este. My wife is a vegetarian, so a steak place doesn't sound like a great fit. Well, we always ordered grilled vegetables to...share (awesome), provoleta cheese, and a steak for the rest of the family.More

This is a traditional meat restaurant that now also offers fish. I highly recommend the lamb rack. It is really good. Be sure that you stress how do you want it cooked because they have a tendency to over do it, but if you ask...for it rare or medium rare, you will be pleased. Deserts are also very good. The restaurant is large and there is plenty of room for tables to be far from one another. Family atmosphere. Good for large groups.More

Always go here when in Punta. Visited 2 times this year. Always great. Professional service, not much English but we get along fine. Anything from the grill is delicious, good wine, tablecloths. It has everything we like!

We heard about this restaurant from our hotel and our visit in every respect was first class. Pedro our server was most helpful even though our spanish was limited. As far as the food was concerned every dish of the meal was excellent. The lamb especially...tender. Wine very full and smooth dessert of pears in wine to die for. Great atmosphere and the chef showed us how the meat was cooked, impressive. We revisited two days late kidneys, steak outstanding. The best restaurant we visited on our trip.More

I have been there at least 5 times for dinner. I love beef and to my mind this is the best restaurant in Punta. Blood sausage just melts in your mouth, beef tripe is very tender and fatty, sweetbread is unbeliavable. I recommend picanha but...ask them for a good cut with fat. Baby beef is very nice as well. Try local wine Tannat, it is a perfect choice for any meat. It gets pretty crowded around 8.30 pm and the ambience is very cosy and lively. The concept of open grill kitchen is very thoughtful and makes dining experience even better. If you appreciate good meat you will love this place.More

‘Bad experience. Did not live up to the expectations. I regret going there. Bad ration of cost/quality. You are just a number there...... Morcilla was bad. I can cook a better asado de tira.

When the restaurant is slow, one can enjoy good food. When busy, staff was rude and inattentive. The menu is long and interesting. It includes an extensive parillada menu. (Beware of ordering too much food.) We had a couple of lunches, without major complaint. We...were grateful to go on Christmas for dinner, but the service was horrible -- inattentive and brusque. At one point the headwaiter snatched the salt shaker from in front of me without a word, when I was going to use it. I got the sense the locals got much better treatment, and our business was not at all valued.More

As I am not well acquainted with Uruguayan cuisine, I decided to try the Fideua. What it is is spaghetti in a brown sauce with mussels and shrimp.....a kind of paella, but with a different carb. It was very tasty. Before starting the meal, I...received bread and a dish of french fries with a fried egg on top. Never had that before either. Service was attentive and the ambience was pleasant. I was there at 10 pm for dinner....another good thing.More
