We had the warm beef meal. The beef was bland tasting with a large assortment of vegetables which were equally bland. Desert was ok but nothing to rave about. Would suggest avoiding this place.

Our hotel recommended this to us and it has been the best meal we’ve had in NC so far. We had the Mahi Mahi and the beef as our mains followed by the mango pudding and deconstructed brownie. The mains contained a fascinating mix of...flavors and vegetables done differently. The desserts were excellent. Great atmosphere, very prompt service. Outstanding.More

We visited here on the basis of reviews, and agree that the flavours are good. The trouble is, there are too many competing flavours on the plate. My well cooked beef was served with a flavoursome jus. Then there were multiple vegetables, cooked different ways,...polenta and a rather confusing spring roll filled with liver. The combinations had us exclaiming 'that's odd!' It is clearly a popular spot, but not one I would necessarily recommend.More

This was our best meal in New Caledonia! Simple menu and absolutely delicious food! After having mediocre food throughout our entire trip, we had almost given up in getting any decent flavours until L’Edzen. this restaurant is a little jewel. The dishes are so obviously...put together with great thought and care, with many delightful flavours in a single plate. Good garden setting as well with good ambience. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there!More

This restaurant is charming, from the simple but delicious menu written in a board, to the elegant sophisticated plates coming from the kitchen. My burger with foie gras was stunning. The kitchen was also happy to prepare vegetarian meals. Highly recommended.

The food was very good but be careful, it still has a smoking section which we did not realise until after we were seated. The setting is a garden setting which is nice but the meal was spoilt by having cigarette smoke wafting past.

Recommended by a local and we were not disappointed as the food was really exciting! So many different tastes and textures on one plate which made it leisurely dinner as we were so busy swapping and identifying items! Thank goodness we chose a bottle of...Gamay to drink as a digestif! While we ate, we enjoyed the arrival of other couples, families and a wee party group. It made for such a special evening. The service was speedy and efficient! The Chef was well complimented.More

Amazing main, I had the beef and it was as if they had combined an entrée and a main. The plate had sooo many things going on, but it was all cooked to perfection and delicious. Service was great. Well worth a visit, wanted to...go back but it was closed for Bastille day and is closed Mondays. BrentMore

I came to Noumea for work for 2 weeks. After struggling to find decent food in overpriced and unimaginative tourist spots, I found this gem not far from my hotel. And I’m so glad I did. I have been twice. The first night I had...the fish dish. As some other posts say, there was a lot on the plate (perhaps too much) and a lot going on in terms of elements but the fish was cooked perfectly and the accompanying sides were all delicious. Tonight I’m half way through the beef. It’s so delicious, rustic, tender and flavoursome that I had to put down my fork (that’s all you’ll need to eat it!) to write this review. Again, there’s probably a little too much going on on the plate with 5 or 6 sides all rubbing shoulders but wow, the beef. So tender. Matched with a delicious Bordeaux. I’m already anticipating what I’ll order when I return later in the week. I haven’t tried a dessert (yet) but the menu looks inviting (even though it’s all in French and I only speak a little). The staff are super friendly and attentive without being overbearing. If you’re in the area you should def give it a go. Certainly beats the food at the (rather swanky) hotel I’m staying at. Yum.More

Service was good and atmosphere ok. The plate was very disappointing. Too many things happening in the plate and no actual taste. Children menu quite expensive too. Overall not a very good experience.

Both of us love discovering new food and the place we were walking to Miretti Gascon) was closed. The Edzen is located less than a block away from there. We went in for a long lunch. We looked at the daily menu and we were...puzzled by the amount of different components comprising each dish. We simply picked the 2 fish dishes in the end. Once the food arrived, we were blown away by the creativity of the dishes. It took us off guard. Not only were the fishes super fresh, but the dish composition was like 10 little parcels of different flavours. The pandanus leaf extract crepe and piment d’espelette ice cream were 2 standouts for us. Everything was bold and delicious. As seems to be customary, the portions are very copious. I managed to find room for dessert, a memorable fresh chocolate nem with raspberry and kinder chocolate. Service throughout was courteous and evenly paced. Great job by the staff. We had to have a nap afterwards due to our gourmand eating, well worth it! A must visit table in Noumea.More
